Surprisingly enough neither the Accord nor any of the Toyotas got Gold or Silver safety pick for that year. There was a Lexus though. Also a couple Audis, a Volkswagen Rabbit, Jetta & Passat, Subaru Legacy and Impreza, and a Saab. None if those except the Lexus made it past the reliability cross filter though

My first car was a ‘66 4-door Plymouth Valiant 200 that my Dad and oldest brother picked out for me in the Summer of ‘73. I had no say, in fact, didn’t even know they had bought me a car till I saw it parked in front of my Dad’s workshop. Iirc, it was either $600 or $800 and I had to pay my Dad back with money from my summer job. Gonz

Used the car to go back ‘n forth to school and my part-time job but two years later I bought a ‘68 Road Runner…and then a few months later, the gas crisis reared it’s ugly head…talk about terrible timing! d'oh!

+1 on the Civic.

A Toyota Corolla is also a safe, dependable vehicle (…although not sure about it’s performance in the snowy Winter…).

surprisingly roomy inside? was that one of the Chryslers that had push button transmissions?

Man-o-man! I remember paying $1.50+/gallon during the late 70's. As expensive as gas is today, it still was probably relatively more expensive back then. But, I haven't looked at the present value, so I am not entirely certain...

The Google says $1.50 in '77 would be $7.19 today

Yes, it was quite roomy in both the front and the back. Mine was column shift, earlier models, maybe '63 and '64? had the push button controls. One thing fo' sure, once I installed my Panasonic auto-reverse cassette deck and Jensen speakers, my car was a great cruiser.

In the Summer of '72, I worked at a gas station. Regular gas was $0.29 per gallon. And those were the days when no matter how much gas a customer bought, you still checked the tire pressure, oil level, and wiped the windows.

Hell no. The shpo boss’s. I did get to drive it, fast and in the rain.

First car was a 73 Buick Century. AM radio initially. Then am/fm/power booster/8track tape player.

Still couldn’t pull the ladies. A real shame, considering all of the trunk space.

I got to drive a Countach about 20ft in reverse once. Thrilling at the time. Prolly still would be.

One dude at the shpo has a Mclaren amongst other luxury type vehicles. Doesn't let anybody drive it tho

I recall a buncha folks on this here forum telling me he was gonna be an issue... pitbulls are mean, blah, blah, blah... they're aggressive dogs... yadda, yadda, yadda...

The boy is an absolute peach and everyone who actually meets him says so.

And if men can "identify" as women, and vice versa... my dog identifies as a cat, so... nobody can say sh*t.

Yup... although there's probably a coyote a few miles away that would vehemently disagree. Anxious

That is two different "Lambros" I've driven in the same number months. He has a black and orange Mclaren. So far, I'm not allowed to even glance at it. I suppose I didn't help myself when I drove yesterday, I passed him on the right at a higher than prudent speed, in rain. He was kind of quiet for an hour after that.

Yes sir (hand raised). I was one of them. You remained dedicated and stayed with it. Knew it wouldn't be easy and figured the chances of failure were significant, but you've got the fortitude of a pitbull and you've got too much pride to allow yourself to be easily beaten.

Prost!

Sitting at the emergency vet atm. Just had to admit my cat for a blocked urinary tract. They have to keep him atleast 48 hours. I'm a mess and my cat is high AF right now. Vet won't give me any pain meds though... I asked.

Need to think of a really good present for his homecoming. You pass a rock through your peepee you deserve a present.

Hard working gal. She was even the State Girls Heavyweight Wrestling champion at 184 pounds when she was in high school.

Don't know his daily diet, but maybe a nice, oversized can of tuna in a can, served in a place where the sunlight beams through the window, on a soft, cushy pillow.

Hell, I'd like that.

Truly taking the day off.

Regular working Monday and Tuesday. Abused my body (in a non sexual way) on Wednesday assisting a home to home move. Furnace and AC install yesterday (and was sore as hell), got in 12,000 steps.

Coffee and light breakfast now, then a dog walk, then some more coffee, then getting on my bike to ride with a podcast feeding my ears.

If I get all of my work done, cigars at 2:00 is the reward.

Coffee now... short dog walk, physical with the VA at 9am.

Already had my annual physical with Tricare, and signed the paperwork for them to share info. Why the hell do I need to do it again for the VA, you ask? This is gov't (in)efficiency at work.

Farking spent all morning writing up a case study for a cyber security class. Got it all done, all I had to do is cut and paste the write up in into my template for APA format. Change the header, footer, cover page... save, publish to a PDF.

Did all the above only to realize, as I scrolled through the dressed up version, that the cut and paste of the entire document didn't paste... only the first page... and I overwrote the the original draft. The auto save backups are gone too.

Franking A!

Gonna be back to square one on the franking thing after I get home tonight around 11.

Sigh....

Shockingly, with all the crap I got going on right now... my bp was 110/70 this morning.

And my cure for the hot day is to go hang out with Art after the termite guy is done. Beers, cigars, carne asada, and a dip in the pool.

I mean, how many “Bucky”s are out there? Think

A few beers... a Monte Edmundo... and a dip in da pool. I feel like a nap is in order.

Tank, once again, didn't want to jump in of his own accord, but when I picked him up and walked in with him, he swam around for a bit. He's solid muscle and bone, so he doesn't float well, but he did swin in the deep end a little.

Got tired real fast. Prolly gonna snore tonight... fugger.
