Our recent and early monsoon activity has brought out the demon spawn bugs in full force this year. Apparently, my wife is seeing people in her local mom-groups on FB freaking out about these swarms of little black bugs litteralyy swarming on the ground. My older kid's kindergarten has them so bad they were using a idfferent door to get into camp because there were so many near the front door and my youngest's oreschool had to close the polayground there were so many.

I spray the outside perimiter of our house monthly with Bifenthrin, so we now have mass graves of these bugs around the outside of the house. Some are getting in, but they get dustbustered up and dumped.

Thewre was a heavy streamof pest control pickup trucks in the neighborhood this morning as I was leaving. THose guys must be killing it right now.

I believe I will have to add one more drop of wine to the "plagues list" at Passover next year.

It was 90 when I started my walk and I made the mistake of wearing a cotton shirt. Usually go with wick-dry shirt cuz it cools some and dries fast. Came back 2 lbs lighter but the shirt was 2 lbs heavier.

Metal based patio table and side table wire brushed and painted. Pool cleaned. Enough for today.

Saw pics on Nextdoor but not any at my place. In other news there has been one death so far this year from West Nile.

From the looks of your spelling I think another drop of wine may have been had already.

Naaa…I still do it myself. The wife thinks I should just get some tanned minions. I’ve bought my last lawnmower.

We are both significantly happier.

Take whatever time you need to.

Then, if you need the money or just want to work part-time like you are or work more time at a higher paying, higher functioning job, you will. Will probably take a few years, but that's how I see it for you- based on what I read here. And, it just so coincidently happens to be my game plan. LOL.

Big mesquite tree in the front yard has started it's annual seed pod drop. Too heavy to blow and raking doesn't work very well either so we pick up by hand for about 10-15 minutes each day. This lasts about one month and my back doesn't like it one bit.

Also lawn furniture repair and paint day. Fun times!

I cut down every single tree on my lot before construction and replace them with 12 clean, easy to maintain trees. Lawn guy does the rest.

That’s why we have global warming as an existential threat.

nope...replacing one tree with 12 is called...sustainability...however there may be increased issues with forest management and risk of wildfire...

continuing to drive my gas guzzling turbo-charged four banger is an existential threat, especially when I ignore posted speed limits while on road trips...

A well-blazed path, then. We will see. Another great advantage from being away from the madness is I’m starting to forget the names of some of the worst, bad actors. The healing continues.

It's been 25 years since we moved in and I have spent zero, while my neighbors who kept the trees from the forest our neighborhood was built in have spent $5-10k each over the years.

Car was finally picked up from the shop today. Repairs took over 90 days. Looks like they did a real nice job.
Wife doesn't work on Thursdays anymore, so we ran some errands and had lunch. Siesta!

43 years for Mr. & Mrs. Ram. Raising a glass. Cheers!

Calm relaxing day here. Dog, bike, healthy food, right amount of exercise.

Tired little camper now.

last minute scratch...had stuff on the counter getting ready to slice and dice when the Assisted Living Center called and reported that my sister had taken a fall, and was bleeding severely from a laceration on the top/front of her head.

They said EMT are on scene and will transport her to nearest Emergency Ward. She seemed alert and conscious...when I caught up w her at the hospital, said she bent over to sweep up some dust and went head first into the leg of the table and the wall/baseboard. There was a lemon sized knot on her forehead above her left eye and a deep 1.5" - 2" laceration on the top of her head. Four hours later, CT scan was negative and a doctor had sutured her up. Took her home...

On our way home, my wife said she was hungry, and didn't want to wait the hour to hour and half until I cooked up the fried rice and grilled up the chicken, so we stopped at the Border for crunchy tacos and burrito supreme...
