Is there a back up plan for if (when) this forum finally disappears? I need to be able to keep my eye on Jones and know what Drafter had for lunch.

I've been wondering too. Seems like this operation is liquidating stock on it's way to being shuttered.
I'm not a customer but would miss the forums

No joke... been seriously considering a good one to power the whole house in the event of emergency. I know Jax doesn't get many hurricane landings but the tropical storms sometimes do a good amount of damage, too.

I can probably set something up if you want... Don't have to use it, but it's there in case the lights go out...

Everyone OK with the current sub-forum layout?

I’ll be considering one for the whole house.

I have an agricultural grade John Deere 6000watt with a 13 HP Honda engine from my last stint in Florida. It was part of my hurricane kit and now is part of my earthquake kit.

I don't want to be in charge of this thing, but it's here if we need it:

Yes.

The tricky part is timing, it's a shame we don't have any insight as to when CI is going down for good, Having two places to update is a PITA. I also wonder if there is a way to PM all current users to le them know where to go when this place closes down.

One last thing, whilst riding the Titanic, you might as well go with a Platinum Membership.

My thought was to just leave the backup empty (I mean you can go and sign up for an account now if you want) and only use that site of this one actually goes down.

Unfortunately, I fear that we will have no warning before this one goes away, so no way to suddenly notify people if this board goes "Error 500 - Server Error, Page Not Found".

Empty except, now is a good idea to register and reserve your user ID.

Monitored retroactively. Probably not a good idea to upload straight up porn pics.

I'd have no problem with this, but there are some FB haters here and FB can be a PITA for some topics.

And if we don't allow a person or username... ain't that the same thing as acting like the fkn leftards and creating an echo chamber?

I got nuttin' against Ray. He's consistent... which is more than I can say for a lot of other MF'ers.

That Stogie1020 guy thinks if he has a little power, he can act like a tyrant and start barking orders.

Meh. I don't see that, either. I see a guy taking up for people he knows and respects.

I don't have an issue with you. Simply because I see you standing up for what you believe and not backing down. I don't like the way you interact with some of the people I respect on this forum, but that's between you and them... and they can speak for themselves and from what I see, they have.

Personally, I don't mind the differing opinions. I'm confident in my beliefs and have no issue defending them.

He consistently shows displays of contradictions that rival that of flat earth!

Oh... you meant stays consistently on the narrative... yeah, he does that... his head is consistently in RayRay land.

It's pretty easy to just ignore the Politics area, now when the hair pulling and bitch slapping spills over into other areas it is a PITA, but whatever.

Has there been any word about the potential demise of CBid?

Or, is it simply the anecdotal evidence of it rolling into a death spiral?

Only the always condescending, smarter than everyone, every time will no humility and all the answers, are the fun killing drones.

A little self effacing humor and some vulnerability and humanity can go along way.

Lacking self awareness is the speediest ticket to Doucheville.

I fall into that category. The world is a complicated place and we are living in a binary (except for those who are non binary) world where discussion and debate with nuance is trampled with the idiots blasting their blowhard blowhorns (turned up to 11) three talking points from msnbc, fox or cnn.

Fully understand and am onboard with If You Don’t Like It, Turn the Station Off.

I do that from time to time.

Topped to remind everyone to get on board the Cbid Forum escape pod.

I think there will be little to no warning when this site gets tossed into the Internet shitter.

Time to at the least reserve your ID.
