I had ta look it up.
Flexor digitorum profundus. Flexor digitorum superficialis.
I severed the tendons in my left index finger. All of them. Seems the profundus runs up the middle of the finger and the superficialis connects to the outside of the index finger, just above the first knuckle from the palm of your hand.
If you sever them... your index finger is useless. Fortunately for me, a Navy LT hand specialist was able to reconnect them.
