Ha!

I'll have the opposite issue. Three rye bourbons and three cigars this afternoon evening.

I'll be in bed in 20 minutes, but the sleeping forecast is fer chit.

It's morning, and really early considering it's not a work day. What am I even doing up? Think I'll try to get unconscious again

Yeah... it was the 8 beers I had at my buddy's place on Friday. He steamed/fried some shrimp and I charred some ribeyes. Slept fitfully... so made up for it.

Five and a half hours of jagged sleep. It is almost like tobacco and booze aren’t great for sleep.

Winding down on finishing up on the BS IT degree with concentration on cybersecurity. One more class to fill the check boxes and graduation in November. Not sure I'll do the whole walk with gown, mortarboard thing and the ceremony. Seems silly to me. Been there, done that. My kids want me to do it so I'll probably do it. It would also set an example for them. Not matter how old you are, you can always grow and learn more.

Yes, this is a look at me post (keeping with the tread title). It's been a tough couple years mentally, emotionally, and heath wise. Some of my own doing, some out of my control. Life is not bathed roses but you can live for another day.

Guess I'll have to start looking a real job again in the near future.

Fantastic! Been there, do the motor board, gown and walk. If not just for you, then for your family, they sacrificed too.

Agreed, I'll probably do the walk. It's really not about me. I'd rather not go. If I did it alone, that's one thing but I'm blessed to have the support of others in my life so if they want me to do the walk, I'll do the walk.

I wonder if they'll allow me to share some cigars with other grads. Would have to be incognito since there is no smoking on campus.

Once you have your diploma, what are they going to do to you?

Just kidding, they'll probably mail you the real thing later.

Might there be decent opportunities within Wally Mart?

Always easier at least in the short term to work for the devil you know.

Yeah they send me offers but their corporate and IT home base is in Bentonville, Arkansas. I'm not willing to relocate to Arkansas.

I have no allegiance to Wally Word other then milking them to pay for my degree, 6% 401(k) and Roth IRA match, 15% employee discount on their employee stock purchase plan, 10% employee purchase discount on purchases. Position I'm currently in (inventory control/management) gives me 3 weeks paid vacation per yr. Gonna transfer over to the online shopping/eCommerce department by the end of the month to try to help out in that area next.

As much as I bash them, the company has sweet benefits packages. Not sure on the health insurance deal since I don't use theirs but I would guess that is competitive and in line with most large companies.

Morning, peoples. Sore from sanding and massive tree branch removal yesterday. Need coffee and possibly painkillers. Unfortunately, work frowns on adding rum to the coffee

Yea, I noticed that too. Been getting up at 4 each morning so I can get the 5 miler in before the sun is too high but now it's dark until later. Funny how that works. May have to start sleeping in until 4:30.

Target Corp. has a very advanced corporate cybersecurity and digital forensics group. Might be worth checking out.
