Hey folks.

For those of you who have been around for a long time (like, decades) you may remember ruggysgirl. That was me. WAS. I am in no way, shape, or form connected to Rugrunner, aside from the fact that we have two children in common. But for the story I am about to tell, I would never have returned here because this is a public forum and I have no desire to interact with him at all on any level

My journey back here is long and complex. The shorthand version of it is that I have remained in contact with a few members, and recently I asked one to do a favor for a person I know who has ALS. I had no intention of returning to CBid, but there was some (completely understandable) skepticism.

I came to know Chris because my daughter is disabled, and his wife was a paraprofessional for my daughter in school and has become a dear and trusted friend. Chris and his family are so precious to us for that reason, and many more. Chris was diagnosed with ALS about 5 years ago. It is an aggressive form, and Chris is only in his 40s. One of the very few vices he has left is stogies. He sent me some info on FB about his preferences, but I am a non-smoker so between him not being as well versed in cigar lingo and me being over a decade from any of this, all I can say is that he prefers a long smoke with a 50+ ring gauge because he can still handle them. He still has some control over his arms and hands.

I am not inclined to share anything more about his journey, because it is not my story to tell. I really hope that he will join the CBid forum because I really hope he does. If you would like to send Chris some smokes, please DM me and I will send you his mailing address.

Thanks for reading this.
