Brew if I understand the crux of the problem according to you is that the simpleton proles don't know what is good for them so they need technocrats and dicktators to force them to heed the demands of the smaut central planner people.

The problem is that most Americans don’t give a sh1t.

I see your reading comprehension remains low….

Haven’t you heard HD?
The storm was a once in a 100 year event, and there is no man made climate change.

I believe DeSantis is on record that there is no such thing as “electric vehicles” in the first place…..

Isn't that your platform, your rally cry?

Mandate things that work for you and impose them on everyone else for the "common good" of the planet, culture, way of living, and survival of our species based on your selective experience and preconceived notions.

I think FL should outlaw combustion engines to generate power in case of emergencies.

All household generators must rely on solar and/or wind power.

911 call: We have a fire on Main Street.

Dispatcher: Yeah, we'll get to it in about 12 hrs after the fire tucks and ambulances get charged up.

How you ask? With the spirt and know how that defines us as Americans.
And never mind that the Chinese are kicking our Azzes - that’s only temporary (?).
Have Americans ever give up when things got tough - no.
Did we give up when hitler bombed Pearl Harbor - NO!
We are AMERICANS and will lead the world in clean energy, technology and know how - cause it’s us, god damn it.

No better lessons come than those from failures. And we a blazing new trails here. Time to button up.

While I appreciate sarcasm better than most, it's obvious you have no answer of substance here.
The only thing that moves more slowly than building infrastructure is the government building infrastructure.
No sarcasm from me on that point.

To breakdown the problem further:

There are two camps in America. Those who know we need to clean things up. Those that know we don’t.

What shows in this thread is that many honestly don’t think that EV’s are needed. And that are quick to point out the problems and sell the idea that EV’s are some evils plot to profit off of consumers.
You cannot sell these people on fixing a problem that they honestly or not believe does not exist.

The 1st camp has more parts.
People that know it is just a matter of doing it.
People that question it’s practicality.
People that know it just won’t work.

Now, the crux of the problem for the last two categories is that the technology of energy production and usage is complex. Most people do not understand it, and are unlikely to research it because - well it prolly is all just bull****, just like science.

When I was born there were 3 billion people in the world. Now there are 8 billion people in the world.
Things need to change.

No need to be so altruistic. The government will do what's best for us. Because they are benevolent and efficient.

So….are there things we should all make sacrifices for or band together on for the common good?

they rationed gas fan food during WWII - “for the common good of the world”, but some disagreed with the war. Perhaps you did/would have.

You can just say that green mandates are not something you believe in. And I would understand.

Honestly - I believe that American ingenuity can make this work. It already does and just need to be adopted and scaled up. And it need to happen, though many would not be bothered to know.

I’m thinking you don’t think we can do it.

You don't fool me with that "sacrifices for or band together on for the common good" garbage. Of course, you don't mean voluntary association yours is commie speak for having the government force the peasants do what they rationally wouldn't do if they had freedom of choice, like under captitalism. And don't you know that war is a racket? If it doesn't kill the peasants and it kills plenty, it makes them poorer.

He's working on it. Watch his rhetoric, it might devolve all the way down to the likes of AOC or Dirty Nancy.

Seems in a recent video speech the Chairman of Toyota says California’s timetable is unobtainable.

Do you mean the Chairman was talking about how progress works organically in the real world and not in the imaginary world of politicians and bureaucrats? Shocking!

Coming from Toyota I’m not surprise. However that statement is too vague to be meaningful. Would love to hear more.

Toyota is prolly the most interesting story of going for clean cars. The have invested heavily the last 10-20 years on Fuel Cell cars (read hydrogen powered). They had the right idea at the wrong time. The logistics of creating a network of liquid hydrogen filling stations is a much taller order than just going electric with batteries. So now, Toyota is years behind the EV change over.

Ha Ha Brew. You lied when you said you ignored me. LOL LOL LOL

Anyway, what's so vague about the Chairman's statement?
Authoritarian Lefty dicktates are always unobtainable, especially when they set a Soviet-style timetable. Even in the attempt, they'll leave ruin and poverty in their wake.
