Mid 50°s going to mid 60°s.

Gotta run to the hardware store at sometime and get a couple spare keys cut. Gonna make a pot of spaghetti sauce in the crook pot. Burger, hot sausage, onion, garlic, peppers and all the usual spices. Just let it simmer in the crock pot all day to fill the place with warm smells.

Prolly knock off some homework so tomorrow can be a lazy day.

Spending spree continues. d'oh!

Went online to the Home Depot site and ordered a lawn mower (gas), shears, gas can, trimmer/edger (Ryobi electric), propane grill and tank. Mower and shears will be delivered early next week. The rest I have to pick up at the store later. 10% discount on all ordered items. BigGrin Saved me $86.

Negative. I don't like mushrooms. Mushrooms are yucky but I cook with them on occasion if the recipe calls for it - chicken marsala for example. They add an "earthy" (aka dirt) flavor which can be OK but then I to pick them out before eating. Would have to use fresh shooms as canned shooms are more yucky than fresh shrooms.

I'd do black olives (actually would pick green olives over black) but the sauce is not just for me and other eaters don't like olives.

Hawaiian Huli Huli wings are marinating.

Baby back ribs are dry rubbed.

Now I need to figure out which one I’m cooking tonight.

Probably should make sure they are completely empty and put a couple slugs into each one at a safe distance.

Pubic safety and stuff.

Also put out any leftover refrigerators and/or dryers on the curb without removing the doors. Weed out the stupid kids who want to play hide and seek in a refrigerator.

Or don't empty them, put plugs in, and use them for target practice, from a safe distance of course

Also, sounds to me like you should have ribs with a side of wings

This?

https://www.leilanisattic.com/products/hawaiis-famous-huli-huli-sauce-24-oz-shipped?variant=32282399473713&ab_version=B&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1bqZBhDXARIsANTjCPLfHOsWOJMqxyWeGDheM8nEqJer-Id4C5XWKQdREqGu87hRrF_MJagaAjo8EALw_wcB

Back in the day, "Huli-huli Chicken" was a big thing. Ewa Brand chicken did fundraising events. They brought all the equipment and of course, their chicken, you did the pre-sale tickets, supplied the location and bulk of the workers. Kiawe wood and the rub they used gave the cooked product a unique taste. "Huli" means to turn in Hawaiian so the constant flipping of the chicken led to people calling it "huli-huli chicken" since every so often, the racks with the birds would be turned and moved over. Eventually Ewa Brand trademarked the phrase so whenever I hear the term, I automatically think of the smell and taste.

Weird weather today with relatively clear skies, little chance of rain (3%) and only 88F/73F- with lower humidity and a nice breeze. Mild cold front gave us our first taste of fall 4-6 weeks early. I have been living in Orlando 40+ years and today's and tomorrow's weather is a truly a rare event.

That bottled version looks interesting. I use this recipe:

Some friends stopped over for a visit just as the spag sauce was done. Franking leaches... eat my food and then take leftovers that I packed for them. Can you imagine that? Sure, they did the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen but really... I have no leftovers for lunches this week and I'll have to grovel for food.

Weather forecast is calling for rain tomorrow so it'll probably be a good day to lounge around, watch football and do a batch of something. Thinking chicken piccata. Not many people like capers so I'll have it all to myself.

Last day we were in Tampa last January it was 45 degrees out and we were swimming in the heated pool, probably about 70 in the water. Was not warm. But it was the last chance to do summer things before flying back to cold n grey.

Even during the summer if a pool isn't heated it's never really a comfortable temp. Maybe by the end of summer when it's time to close it up.

I am a victim of my own success. My 1000sqft of Bermuda gas is so thick and dense, it is nearly impossible for an out of shape middle aged guy like me to mow. Mow with a manual push reel, mind you. I have a Scott's 20 inch push reel that I keep pretty darn sharp, but the denseness of the turf is making this a real cardio event, and my cardio currently sucks. The powered reel mower I want is out of stock everywhere, and my lawn laughs at me when I check to see if it's back in stocks every damn day.

Once the lawn was mowed, I moved onto cooking the brisket for tomorrow's Rosh Hashana dinner. Oven braised with a ketchup and onion soup gravy, plus a secret cook technique that takes it over the top. All three crazy in-laws came over tonight to celebrate my youngest's birthday (we were out of town on the actual day) and I get to cook for them again tomorrow... Exhausted, finally getting a cigar and a drink on the patio. Calgon take me away...

Buy a goat.

It will keep the grass trimmed and you can maybe sell carbon credits.

Just don't tell anyone here that you have a goat. They might stop over unexpectedly to "pet" your goat.
