Frying pan Think Frying pan Think Frying pan Think

Why on earth ??? Would anyone build a art museum on stilts in the ocean , then store hundreds of irreplaceable masterpieces in said building?

Paintings worth multiple millions of dollars E.A.C.H. galore hang on all it's walls since the 1980's when I went to visit it...

I couldn't figure out why they chose that location even back then....

Now this IAN CATEGORY 4 HURRICANE is making a straight B-LINE FOR TAMPA / TAMPA BAY INLET according to several computer models...

Batten down the hatches BOYEEES...

P.S. better hope your bldg insurance company and their re-insurers have enough C.A.S.H. TO PAY YOU FOR WHAT YOU MAY LOSE?

Really cool museum. Been there a few times. Even have a replica on the wall.

It’s a bit of a bunker but some of that glass is worrisome and nothing stops flooding.

I’m sure they have a plan.

Super cool museum...
I did some googling...
Built to withstand a "CAT 5 " HURRICANE!!

AND ITS IN St. Petersburg? I think? Which is next directly next to Tampa /south west and is directly on the water.

Ok...

My memory is like a STEEL FRIGGIN TRAP!!!

I WAS RECUITED at a very early age to learn/decifer code by the government, I did not make the cut but was exposed to many important people at the Greenbrier hotel in W.V. during my time in "project BLACKJACK" BACK IN THE LATE 50'S AND ALL THRU THE 60'S....

NOW...
I made this post about the Salvador Dali museum actually being built on stilts into the Tampa Bay...that is what I remember when I visited my grandfather in the early eighties at the small town above st. Petersburg known for sponges..
Tarpon Springs ( the home of THE AWESOME PAPPAS GREEK RESTAURANT/ BEST ROASTED LEG OF LAMB IN AMERICA...NOW DEFUNCT.)
But
I digress...so I Google it...low and behold it was not over the water like I remember...

What the FUUUUUCCCKKK???

I RESEARCH FURTHER , opened in 1982, I was there in
1982-84??
I know it was over the god-damned ocean / bay on stilts..

W.T.F.?

Sooooo, it was moved in 2011!!!
To a new building, built to higher HURRICANE CATEGORY CODES...NOW UP TO CAT 5 CODES...

SOOO, BACK TO THE O.P.....

IT IS NOW BACK A FEW TO 4 ? BLOCKS FROM THE BAY...
STILL VERY NEAR THE WATER...but not on stilts in the bay like it used to be....

It was really messing with my NOGGIN...big time...
Problem figured out...I feel better now...

P.S. Tony...I'd spot you a mile away with my excellent peripheral vision...along with your P.R. SSG recruits looking at their cell phones Instead of their surroundings like most of the young idiots in the FBI-SSG "class OF 2013-14" WHO WERE MOSTly LOSERS that they trained on my sorry ass...
Pb/82/207.2 would be wizzing by your NOGGINS before you even heard the sound, I like to make idiots dance with well placed Pb placement...
