So some of you've asked me in PM's what have I been up to over the years?
Well, I still do woodworking, locally... I closed the business down in 2017 when my Mom and Brother passed. Gave up repoing people's Chit because during COVID everybody's Chit was safe from foreclosures and Repo, Govermunts rules..
then come along a guy and his wife with a dream that he made reality.. so for about 3 years I was a Poker Tournament Director in this Smoke'N Aces Poker league. Free for Patrons at these local bars to play!! (The bar's sponsor/Host it for a $150.00 a week fee) this money's is pooled for a cash tournament at the end of 4 weeks/month Payout tournament. TD's are payed $50.00 a night to set up at these Locations/Bars and babysit and play with all these Patrons/Drunks like me!!
I'd run 4 locations a week and this helped subsidize my drinking habbits.. and I got to meet allot of good people to boot (some not so nice, they just could not grasp the idea of "Free To Play" Poker? #1 Rule of being a patron and play was (Don't Be A D!CK" I quailified many times during my tenure. and one time took 2nd place, the guy I was playing against went head to head for over an hour and while playing I heard about his minivan catching fire and his arms were scared from trying to put the fire out, so I just started going All In with Chit cards so he could win.. he cashed out with $2K and I was happy with $1K payout. I also met my Wife during this adventure and here we are today!!!
This league has grown from 1 district to 3 Districts now in Illinois and one into Wisconsin. the Founder established this league off the Gaming laws here in Illinois, Wisconsin and other States who have State run Poker Machines (Same Rules)
"Smoke" The Original Founder just passed a few months back, I miss the old bird... but what he established here is something that is taken root and growing... Ya'll can check it out here and if you have any questions LMK!!!
