So I’m on my way from Fort Worth to Albuquerque and will have to take a mandatory 30 minute break because the trip exceeds 8 hours. I decide I’ll combine my stop with a meal since I’ve only had a protein bar since I woke up about 10 hours ago. But, I want something quick, but not fast food, because I still have 4.5 hours of driving today and I really want to be shut down by 10 PM.

I see this place on US 87 about 30 or so miles SE of where 87 runs into I-40. I see 5 more rigs parked on the side so I figure it’s worth a stop. It’s a small Mexican cafe. I ordered a Chile Relleno and Enchilada plate which comes with beans and rice. Best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. As good as what I ate when I actually in Mexico.

When I get up and head back to my truck I’ll post the name of the place. It’s on the southern outskirts of Claude, TX.

Most don’t have radios. Even if they did you wouldn’t be able to understand them since they don’t speak English. Not sure how they read the laws, but we can thank Obama for that. His administration changed the rules and allowed the non-English speakers to become CDL holders even though the Federal Regs say drivers must be able to read and understand English.

Those were racist laws, Obama made CDL driving great again with privilege reparations…..

From the OP I was waiting for a Magwitch story.

Isn't it all? I mean, I used to think that chewing gum at least was a long term lease, but turned out that my mother was wrong.

Pass through on our way to Wyoming sometimes. Like Frank said, Mexican food is not a safe choice for ME when I still have drive time. Frying pan

Was thinking the same thing... it all gets depleted of nutrients and then pooped out. Some of it just runs through a little quicker. Mexican food doesn't seem to bother me.

I have an iron gut, though... even when I was in the Philippines I got used to the water in a day or two. Every time we'd leave port and I'd be drinking pure, clean water on the ship for a few weeks... we'd get back and I'd just go back to drinking the local water and for the first day or two it affected me, then I got used to it again.
