Have not seen anyone mention the signature 1887 black label that Gurkha gifted many of us late spring. That, IMHO, was one of the best sticks I have ever smoked. Maybe cause it was free! Also have a G3 resting

Pretty good luck w/Gurkha's for the most part.
Top five:

Titan
Centurian
Legend Perfecto
Master Select
Nep Warrior

Only ones I'll avoid:
-Fuerte - I'm 0 for 4 on these - think mine were made in the Black Cat factory
-Vintage - didn't gag on it, but no reason to revisit
-Expedition - just about did gag on these
-Park Ave - Air Ball

Black Dragon, the regular one not the super premium (obviously). Just finished a Beast as well and that one was pretty tasty.

Art Deco
Pre-Embargo
Beauty
Crest
Original Symphony
Original Legend (came in mazos with a different band about 7 years ago)
Original Regent
Status
Red 1887
Genghis Kahn
Beast
Titan
Warlord
Black 1887
Grand Age
New Symphony
New Regent

Those are my favorites in order. I am a Gurkhaho though, so there are very few I don't like (Sherpa, East India, Park Ave, Castle Hall, Fuerte, Expedition, Turk, Master Select). Considering the line depth is like 30 cigars, disliking 5 is not bad.

Just had my first Gurkha this evening while walking the dog. Regent Torpedo and I enjoyed it a lot. Now I'm looking forward to trying some others.

Gurkha??? I've only had two that haven't exploded on me. Black Puro and Royal Brigade; both of which I liked very much. I just wish there were more consistency in their products.

They have the following at buy one get one:
Beast
Black Dragon Gigantic Size
G3
G5
and I think one other I forgot.

They also have crap loads of other sticks at buy one get one including AVO, Camacho, CAO, etc. Also, they have a box of El Triunfador and a box of V maddies left too

Oldie but a goodie thread. A lot of new Gurkhas on the market today, let's get a running list of your favorites that didn't explode in yur face.
Any Gurkha Hos still around.

My Drunking Beast lot that I purchased last year this time finally started drying out. Sick smell almost gone. Just a touch of ammonia left. Had one, it was a great surprise.

So for me I've had 4. Best to worst in this order.

Beast
Warlord
Beauty
Park Avenue

Herfing

Wow, necroposting FTW.

I thought the OP's thread title was a trick question. Isn't asking somebody about their "favorite gurkha" the same as asking what the "tastiest feces" or the "cutest cadaver" is?

Big contingent of Gurk haters here. I've got about 10 I like and have yet to have one explode. None of those on Hillbilly's list are on my like list, but I haven't tried the Beast or the Warlord yet and don't expect much from them either.

Yeah I've honestly only had 2 Gurkha's in my life and I honestly don't remember what I thought bout them. Obviously it wasn't a life changing experience for the good, the bad or the ugly in either case.

Them Beasts need a lot of rest. A lot!!
I received one in a blind taste test that was delicious.

As a newbie in the cigar world, I've been learning a lot, still lots to learn and taste. For what it's worth here's my opinion.
1) Centurian double perfecto
2) Beauty, conneciticut torpedo
3) Vintage 2001 double perfecto

I really want to try the new Hudson Bay that just came out this month.

Centurian is good. Bought the dbl perfecto sampler and it was the best out of the four, but it did unravel on me after the half way point.

Bought a five pack of beast XOs right after joining and have 1 left. Might be a good smoke after all this time, I liked the other four.

Viper is awful. Bought a fiver of robustos and they would not stay lit. Even after some rest they still needed to be relit three or four times.

I think the newer Vipers are different than the older ones, Anthony. I will be testing them. Some of my favorites are Black Dragon Fury Nublizer (goes Nub two better), Special Ops ,(with some age) Monogram, Ancient Warrior, Seduction, Widow Maker maduro. Seems to be a lot less variety on CBID in the past year.

horse First Gurkha I ever tried was delicious. One of the older ones that a friend gifted me. I also liked the Warpig. However, I bought two fivers of the Centurians because the ad made them sound so good, created for a Sultan, blah blah blah. Gave one fiver out, and took the other one to the Big Herf for me and my buddies. Out of five, three of them exploded like joke shop cigars. Sorry batting average, and embarrassing. Hope the ones I sent out didn't explode...

I actually threw out a bunch of about 40 sticks not long ago and probably 15 of them were Gurkhas. Crests, Beauties, a couple of randoms.. Made the mistake of winning a few Gurkha samplers when I first got on here.. couldn't smoke but one of each before I realized, "Hey, these suck!"

I tell my crew,if it sucks, throw it to the fishes. There are sharks and crabs out there who are dying for a cigar. You never can tell what another persons taste will be. I have about 20 Gurkhas in the crews stash.

They had a boxed press lancero I kinda liked back in the day. The park ave was a nice cheap mild smoke, reminded me of unsalted cashews. Never had one explode on me or anything, but I'll never buy another one. They were fine in the days when I had much more time than money. Now that time is much more precious, its worth it for me to buy something a bit nicer when I'm spending the precious time with a cigar.
