Bids over retail

A year ago the bids were a lot better. I am getting frustrated with all the bids that are at or over retail. For example the la Gloria Cubana Wavell Maduro is $67 a box at XXXXX.com and the bid is $14 for a 5 pack which = $70 and going higher.

You can't figure that way. 5 packs are going to sell higher per stick then boxes. People buy 5 packs to try out different cigars, they buy boxes when they know the cigars, at least most do. CI does not promise that all prices will be low, in fact they have no control over prices. Unless of course you think CI is bidding the prices up. I do not believe they are, the loss of credibilty would kill them and believe me if they did it would get out. You can't keep a secret like that. All of us have a secret weapon we can use if prices get too high. DON'T BUY. I for one wish their wasn't so many great buys, I've filled my humidore and it holds 1,500 cigars, if the prices were any better I might be forced to convert a room in my house to a walkin humidore I have not figured out which kid to throw out to make room yet.....Russ

That's life in an auction. Just how bad do you want it? Yes occassionally the bids are high due to the fact newcomers who come to the site and bid close to retail or over. It's a learning process and makes one do their homework once they get shafted as I say a couple of times. But guess what? No one makes you submit a bid...you do. So if you pay high then you are just as guilty as those you complain about.

Alot of bids on 5packs go over retail, it is still a great way to get a good mix of cigars in the box. After what cigarbid has saved me on MANY boxes of fine smokes I feel like this is their tip. Quit bitchin or go to another site where you can pay their inflated retail prices!

Quit your bitchin' and go make me a sandwich!!! So what if someone over bids... they probably have more money than you and can afford to overbid.

I have been smoking cigars regularly for 3 years now. At first, I purchased my cigars at the local specialty shops and paid way more than necessary. Then I found that many of the grocery stores have humidors with cigars at a cheaper price. 2 months ago, I found Cigar International's (retail side of this web site) web site and made a few purchases at a much better price than what I was accustom. I have seen several sites since finding this site and have to say that this is the best I have seen.

My only comment as to pricing is that it seems that CIGARBID does establish some form of control on pricing by how they set the initial price and the increments. But again, as it has been previously stated, "if you don't like it, don't bid".
