I have no more comments on the Elian fiasco. It happened let's go on! As for illegal aliens coming into the country...well here goes: I have worked with the government for years and have seen first hand what such things like NAFTA has done then consequences of illegal immigrants flooding the US and it's impact socially and economically. If you think that we should just open the flood gates to allow all those who feel America is the land of freedom in then I say you must learn their cultures, in which you should forget yours as an American. Learn their laws and accept their unique ways of life. You think this is funny but we have already begun this here is the US...your driver license offices now cater to Spanish versions of testing! Come on, your in our country learn the damn language. Our industry sells out to cheap labor and we loose American jobs and who suffers...that's right your family and kin. Not to mention we essentially have these illegal aliens working their asses off for half the price. We do a injustice to all. How many of you think if we flooded other countries they would cater to our needs...if you say yes then you have been smoking something other than a cigar, you have hit the crack pipe too many times. Let's face it, other countries love our money and that is all....WAKE UP AMERICA-OR AMERICA WILL SOON BE FOREIGN SOIL TO US!

At last, we get to hear from a REAL American...... One question, What Indian tribe are you from? Signed an American born of Russian immigrants who married an Hispanic woman and now love our "black" daughter, our "hispanic" son and daughter and our "white" daughter

Oh but if you had read the post....illegal aliens who are not citizens. That is the key word....illegal alien, so hence the term. As far as my heritage...Irish, with Russian and German ancestry. My family when came over, oh yes, they seeked citizenship! That is the difference.

Not referring to America as a state...hence smaller case. It refers to the current condition it is in. Read people...don't assume.

So, is the problem illegal aliens or the "Good American" employers who illegally hire them? and just what jobs are you concerned about? the ones who move irrigation pipes? the ones washing dishes? or the one picking fruit? lets face it, there are no illegal aliens performing brain surgery or engineering skyscrapers or challenging anybody in a position that is even semi skilled. they are filling thankless minimum wage jobs that the legal americans don't want and would go unfilled if not for them. and back to the first point, if the employers would follow the laws of this great country, the "PROBLEM" would'nt exist.....

the fact that these people are called illegal aliens, means that they are here illegally, the are breaking the law, and the people who hire them are also breaking the law, both are guilty under the law, it is not an either or. The reason Americans don't flood the borders over to Mexico is because the Mexican government would not give us free benifits and treat us with kid gloves, like what is happening in California. We make it too easy and profitable, and this entices people to smuggle themselves into this country. I read in the papers today, ranchers in Arizona are taking matters into their own hands. For people whining and moaning about how bad this country is, how poorly we treat minorities, it is interesting how people would risk their lives to come into this country legally or illegally, must not be such a bad place after all.

America, what a GREAT country! Yes we do have a horrid problem with illegal immigrants. To a slight degree, I find it a compliment to this republic we live in that people will risk everything to come to the USA. What I find even more appalling is the amount of federal tax dollars that are spent to educate and pay for the medical needs of ILLEGAL people in this country. As I am sure we all do, as a citizen of this country pay a great deal in taxes, and I am not at all pleased to see that money spent on illegal aliens. This only promotes more illegals to enter this country.
Time now for a Red Stripe and a cigar.

California, kid gloves? Oh I see, thats why California no longer allows illegal aliens children to go to school and thats why there is no longer an bilingual education program in their schools

It is plain to see that it cost us in taxes more than we profit from the thankless jobs....am I correct thepapa? If you want your insurance premiums to continue to rise while you can't even pick your own doctor and your forced to pick from a pre-edited list of HMO's and allow illegal aliens to seek what is essentially free medical care at your expense then I say go ahead Donald Trump....because you must have more money than the rest of your neighbors. Up front, I have no problem with those who want to make the USA their home, but do it legally and respect what this country was founded upon and learn to appreciate what you have and become a citizen. I have seen first hand what a majority of the illegal population does....it is called drug smuggling. Not by the mere ounces but by hundreds of pounds. Thats right, the same drugs your kids or grandkids may eventually buy if they don't have the fortitude to say no! It disgust me to no end. Yes there are certain aliens who are primary in this drug epedemic that we battle. Yes my health insurance suffers from the lack of our great country and hospital systems not being able to turn away those who don't pay into it. Yes I have seen those retired citizens of our country who fought wars and gave their very lives who can't afford some luxuries due to the government catering to these needs. That makes me damn sick...if that offends you then so be it. But read what I wrote and don't assume what I meant because as the words says....it makes a ass out of you and me!

where do you live? Don't you know the California courts, most probably that socialist liberal bastion the 9th Circuit court, struck down most of the measures voted in by the people?

thepapa, what the hell would you do? Russia should have been a great example that Socialism does not work. Are you wanting to give our tax dollars to every illegal alien in this country? Why should the government be spending our tax dollars to give ILLEGAL aliens an education and pay for their medical expenses? I have no problem helping aliens who go through the procedure of securing a LEGAL green card or work visa, but the governments financial help should still be limited.
