It has begun. My wife is now officially into the Football Widow Season 2001. My Patriots are not expected to do much this year, but it will be fun watching them grow. Last years Superbowl teams will be lucky to make the playoffs. Tampa Bay should be the team to beat (again). Simeon Rice added to that Defense? Ouch. I'm glad that Synder's Skins will continue their downward spiral, just so no other owner can think they can instantly buy a ring with no building blocks. This IS the NFL, so don't expect some woosy with "He Hate Me" on his shirt. I just want a Preseason with no injury, and a solid 17 weeks leading into the playoffs. Are You Ready To RUMBLE?!!!!

Ready for football, yes. There are great teams to watch, but they are someone else's - here in Texas the only Rumble heard will be the thud of what's left of America's Team completing the nose dive.

I'm with you, mmay. Hey now, watch it, Gater, I think Jones is looking for "He Hate Me" for a backup quarterback. My goal is that our team win two games, both against Snyder's Snots. Did you hear Banks signed with them (the Skins)? Hey, Gater, on our previous post, you were referring to Kelvin Martin, right? I can't remember what happened to him. I really liked him. I'm sure Jones probably dumped him. I agree on Tampa Bay, they ought to be tough to beat. If I'm not mistaken, they're the FIRST game for the Boys! Ouch! This ought to be another interesting year -- they say Philadelphia will be tough, you'd think the Rams will be back strong, there's the surprise Saints, can't dismiss the Vikings.... YES, I'm ready! (Let's get this damn thing over with.)

Opening day of Football is the greatest day of the year. On Opening Day Eve, I can't sleep and get out of bed with all of my remotes... direct TV on one tv and the other two are set on the local channels, my own little Vegas viewing area! Of course I have the computer up and running for updates on how my fantasy football leagues are going. I have season tix for the Bronco's and almost have to force myself to go to the games since I can watch all of them at home! When the Broncos have a home game my wife and friends that I take think I am nuts... I have to leave the house by 9:30 so I can get a good seat in the bar to watch the morning games. Here is to another NFL season!

Not that Kelvin. I was actually in my "engineering" mode and meant the temperature scale of Kelvin, whereby the zero point is accepted as "absolute zero". Not achievable by todays methods, but theoretically the lowest temperature possible. As for the 'Boys, this won't be a year to remember.

The Cowboys would do well to play some of the cheerleaders at key positions and thus distract the opposition so their "quarterback" can maybe run some deception plays as the other guys are tackling the cheerleaders! Charlie

Charlie, you comment makes good football sense, but it would detract from the scenery, which is about all the 'Boys have going. Some personell should never be exposed to injury.

i never knew why he cowboys called themselves america's team other than most people in america, not from texas, hates them. i like the la rams, playing out of st louis myself and other guys have thier own favorites.

Rick, the 'boys became America's team when Tom Landry ran the show. He was a class act. They continued to be referred to as "America's Team" through the '90s because they represented a cross-section of American "culture": Drugs, beating women, guns, sex. Just your typical inner city high school across this great nation of ours.

I'm guessing you're originally from Houston, Mean. I noticed the Astros logo on your return address, and you like that Houston microbrew beer (incidentally, I checked out their website last night). Looking forward to two teams again in the Lone Star state. Why didn't they retain the Oilers name? Maybe too much bad blood. Hey, Glenn, at least give the Boys two W's against the Redskins!

Bud Selig fixed it where the Oilers name cannot be used in football ever again. Houstonians didn''t hate the Oilers, they hated Bud. Still do. Just ask em.
