All right...so what's everyone planning on smoking for the 4th BBQ/party? Myself, I'm planning on a Perdomo X that's been in my dor since Christmas. Right after my sausage, peppers and onions sandwich! Haven't decided on my Grill tending cigars yet.

I have a couple of Hoya dela Jefe's for the 5 or 6 hours necessary to smoke the ribs and either a Bahia Vintage 1990 or a La Aurora Preferido for after dinner.

I'll be smoking a Pinar 1958 Pre-Embargo Rothschild (since this was when we didn't have an embargo, I won't be smoking any other Cuban on the 4th, that just seems anti-American. Rest assured, as soon as midnight, July 5th hits, out comes the Cohiba Esplendido de Habana.). Followed by a Dunhill Cabreras, then a maduro Temple Hall 450, a Lars Tetens Asadachi and cap it all off with an Aroma de San Andreas Toro to use for lighting fireworks and keeping mosquitoes away :)

I'm planning on an Ashton Aged Maduro #60, sitting on the boardwalk in front of my cabin at Waterfall, Alaska, after a day of salmon & halibut catching. (It's not really fishing there, it's catching).

I'll be at the Devil Ray/Tiger game in the Cuesta Rey cigar bar. Think I'll start with an Ashton VSG, followed by a Opus X #2 Tordedo that's been in the 'dor for about a year.

Between all of the barbecue and Jack Daniels, I'll be enjoying Partagas and Bahia Gold all day(and night)long.

Hey shooter, try a little Jack in that BBQ sauce. It's a little culinary secret of mine....well not any more I guess.

That's a very well known secret. Best baste/mop for smoking pork is 1 part JD, 1 part brown sugar, 1/4 part soy sauce, 1/4 part lemon juice, and a little thyme. Shake it all up in a Mason jar and baste the meat frequently while smoking.

Bud and JF. Believe it or not, I haven't thought of that. I'll try it and let you know the results. But then, the taste of anything mixed with Old Jack #7 can only be improved, right?

Yes sir...you got that right...except for maybe Jello. You might also try a pinch of instant coffee in the BBQ sauce, sound weird but it definately adds a bite to it. Just don't add too much so that you can actually taste the coffee. Damn...I feel like Emeril...BAM!!
