Did anybody catch Bush's assembly today from some school in Texas? Heard it on the radio, Rush Limbaugh to be exact. When asked a question by a young lady about the Taliban's repression of women, Bush called the Taliban "THE MOST OPPRESSIVE, AND BACKWARDS GROUP OF PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH". Now, this is not a newsflash to you or me, but when's the last time you heard ANY politician speak with such candor. Not once did he utter something about a "cultural difference" or the fact that education eludes these poor souls. He simply called a Spade a Spade. The word "refreshing" comes to mind, because this is certainly a major departure from this time of PC politics and a society who are afraid to "Offend" anyone except for real Americans. God Blesh George W. Bush.

You would have said the same no matter the content, and I am not the one that brought Drew Carey into this Political arena, as I happen to like Drew Carey! He supported us cigar smokers in California when the stupid Liberal Leftist group spearheaded by one of your boys, Rob Riener, went for the "education" tax on tobacco products in the last vote held here in the Republic of California! Sorry Charlie! I can see where Rickamaven gets a little confused with our screen-names. Todog and Charlie are really similar. Kind of like Nader, McCain and Gore....all similar. Drew Carey....Cleveland rocks!!!!

It is funny when he gets his Leftist and Righties confused! Maybe he should move a little more to Center like most of us! Charlie

Hard to argue that point (sorry, Charlie). But Rick, other than fluffing the feathers, why do you say Bush's comment was "PR BS"? If it truly were, it would have been highly publicized, rather than at a high school in Crawford TX. Don't be so negative as to refute any and all comments which come from the current admininstration. We're sorry that you can no longer live vicarioulsy through Bubba, but please get over it...

tailgator: "live vicarioulsy through Bubba" i sure would like to know what that means. i thought president clinton was among the smartest presidents we had even though i disagreed with a lot of what he said and did. grownups should not be having sexual encounters with children.

What don't you understand? It's amazing to me that someone who is so highly critical of the current occupant on Pennsylvania Avenue has historically defended Clinton and his behaviors. You claim to not be Democratic, yet if a Republican gave a poor widow $100 you'd find some evil spin. Bush is the Anti-Clinton. Clinton is suave, slick and charismatic. Bush is humble in his demeanor. He is awkward at times with the nuances of his stature. He can't play the media like "Bubba". But it is these qualities that help seperate him from the horrid embarassment that is past. You attack him for some of the proper reasons and ALL of the wrong ones. Your loathing of the party is evident in all you spew onto these pages. And you continually refuse to elaborate so we can attempt to appreciate your view. I enjoy political banter. But you've gotta explain yourself once in a while. So I ask again: What do you mean by "PR BS" ?

public relations bull sh*t. "Bush is humble in his demeanor. He is awkward at times with the nuances of his stature". much like forest gump. "Clinton and his behaviors". never his stupid behavior, and acting like some high school kid overloaded with hormones. "spew". i don't know if that is the correct word. rant might be better, besides, if i don't, who will, and there must be at least one dissenter or we are all saying baa, baa, baa.

Supporting your president in a time of crisis is not even close to being sheep. As for the "anti-clinton" comment, the pun was unintended. And I usually intend them!
