Since the last two boxes came in my humidor is pushing maximum capacity. when I examine my beauties, It seems that the top cigars might be getting a little too moist while the others look fine and the RH is good. The only reason I can see for this is that those cigars might be too close to my humidification device.
Any of you veterans had simmilar problems?

Pix...I've have had this problem with cigars being too close to the humidifier. Although my desktops hold 75 sticks each, I find it best to limited each 'dor to around 55. It allows each of my kids their private space and breathing room. Make sure to rotate them from top to bottom about once a week. Also, it's much easier to store full boxes in a modified styrofoam cooler.

ah the dreaded rotating, when I was using regular humidors this was a time consuming nightmare, if you have one humidor it's no big deal, but before my cabinet I finally just stopped putting many cigars in the top trays, usually I would put cigars there that I plan on smoking soon, up from the bottom tray. But even with a cabinet I have to rotate the boxes, rotating those closest to the fan to higher in the cabinet and so forth, but not nearly as bad as rotating cigars.

What are the consequences for NOT rotating? I have 4 desktops and an acrylic display humidor (holds about 250) so this causes some concern for me, especially since I've lately been picking up super-premiums. Help a huffer out :)

Well, My greatest fear is that any stick that gets too moist can harbour mold. Even if its just the few on top and the RH is good, I dread the thought of allowing any spores to be released inside my humidor.

On further thought. I imagine also that rotation can help the aging process be more consistent from cigar to cigar. It seems optimal to not let any cigars be constantly more or less humid than the others. So I am glad I asked this question. What a valuable tip indeed. Thanks guys!

Putting Boveda packs or HF beads at various levels would probably also help.

I’ve got some waaaay too full. Like stacked perfectly with 5 packs. My audew has a few laying on the glass. I haven’t had the problems people speak of. I don’t give any extra room. I do try to go through everything every couple months.
