Was wondering what the concensus was on these. Tried one right out of the box and was delighted. Seemed to have some age already. One thing though. I pulled one out to give to a co-worker (who Im not too fond of anyhow) and noticed some beetle damage. Checked all the others over and they all seem fine. Im glad I got a bunch. What do you think?

Never tried them but heard they were not bad. Have had the Joya De Nicaragua's however and find these a decent cigar!

**** cigar. Loosely rolled, the draw is like breathing to a paper towel tube. Canoes so bad, you can put the smoke in the bathtub and watch it float. The tobacco tastes ok but it looks like Helen Keller prodigies constructed the cigar. Don’t waste your money.

Are we talking about the same cigar here ?? I bought a couple 5pks.. Smoked the first one the other night.
The roll was good, just on the light side. Draw a "little" on the light side. The wrapper and cap were good. Burn was very good with the ash a little soft. Pleasant flavour but much too mild and needs some character. Totally happy for what I paid.. until my second one.. ?

I have to say also that I am suprised by the coments about the construction. Perhaps those cigars werent part of this five pack blowout? After the beetle damage incedent (read first message) I really examined these sticks and I have to say that all five packs were very well made down to the cap detail. My only negative comment about this cigar is that they are inded quit mild. I also am quit happy for what I paid.

wanyburger, we are in agreement. I gave a 5-pack of these to my brother-in-law to get back at him for giving me that Alcazar No. 5 maduro :) These cigars smoked like plastic rope (the yellow kind) and had the aroma of burning canine feces (just trying to be colorful here). The wrapper and cap would be beat out by some sheets of E-Z Wider. Talk about an uneven burn, I haven't seen a matchup so uneven since the last time Tyson was in the ring :) But these are just my opinions. Did you know that the President of Nicaragua gives a box of the Hoja de Nicaragua Churchills to diplomats as gifts? Explains a lot!

for each his own but ill take SMOKES word for it. just read this on CB: SMOKE magazine says: "Apparently, you can judge a book by its cover, at least in the case of the Hoja De Nicaragua. Made entirely of Cuban-seeded Nicaraguan tobacco, the Hoja De Nicaragua scored top points for aesthetics, and its construction was also at the top of the class. Even after the match was struck, the Hoja kept its perfect game intact with a smooth, complex, mild flavor, along with a wonderful aroma and satisfying aftertaste making for a great smoke. These might be the most pleasant surprise of the tasting...check 'em out! Recommended!"

Different strokes for different folks. I didn't mean my post to be meant as an elitist stance AT ALL. Just expressing my particular experience with this dogrocket :) But, you know, SMOKE does advertise for Hoja de Nicaragua, so I'd question that too...
