I am surprised that more of the flaming liberals are not coming on the board and crying about Andrea Yates civil rights being trounced on by the evil state of Texas!!! What gives with ACLU, NOW and all the other groups that defend these causes? Maybe she will feel the fear of knowing how and when she will die! I certainly hope so! Charlie

the woman is a ding. she doesn't know whether she murdered the children or defrosted the ice box. no matter what her punishment is she won't know. "fry" her or lock her up forever. she is over the edge and in her own world somewhere. look at her face, she is blank.

One of the sad things about the entire Yates issue is that there are no laws on the books in Texas for holding her pathetic excuse for a husband partially, if not fully, responsible as an accessory to this crime. One of the issues that the jury will look at in dertermining her fate/punishment, will be whether or not she is a continuing threat to society. My answer would be a resounding YES if she remains married to dear Rusty.

Too bad we couldn't have had him on trial for the same crimes and then let him cry for his darling witch of a wife! Charlie

If she was as wacked out as they (defense) wanted to make her seem to be, then he should have been a little more aware of the situation rather than after the fact crying and whining and sniveling for poor misunderstood and whacky Andrea! My God, it sounds like leaving the house, was like leaving the kids with a Cobra or something about as deadly if you buy the defense and their liberal prattle! Must we house every nut for life just because we are "against" putting them down humanely? No, kill the witch and move on! Charlie

Whether hubby knew that his wife would kill their children or not is not the issue. The driver of a getaway car may not know that his accomplice may kill a security guard when he robs the bank, but the driver should and can be held responsible when he knows his buddy enters the bank with a gun. In this case, hubby knew that Andrea was a troubled woman, knew that she had suffered from a form of post-pardum (sp?) depression, yet encouraged her to become pregnant for the fifth time, and clearly knew that she was a threat to injure those children in his absence. You may recall his immediate response in the 911 tape when he responded to her request that he come right home. He responded by immediately asking if she had hurt the children. This guy is a pitiful excuse of a man. If he cared about his wife, maybe he should have practiced a little self restraint and common sense. Only my opinion.

We go about our daily lives working, trying to put a roof over our families heads, making sure everyone gets enough to eat. The boss says "Hey I got a family and you don't see me running home every other day"! That's pressure man! You want to spend every minute at home but you NEED that f*****g job! It's easy to delude yourself when the truth is just unthinkable. Is Rusty a bonehead? Probably so. There's millions of guys just like him, it's not a crime. More like a tradgedy. I have mixed feelings about the death penalty. Truly evil people need to be speeded along on their way to hell. Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, Richard Speck. I hope they like it hot. This women isn't evil, she's nuts. That rates four hots and a cot for life. I'm not crying for her. Someday she'll come to and realize just what she has done. That will be her true punishment.

If she confused drowning her kids with defrosting the icebox, why'd she call 911? She KNEW what she did was wrong. Insane? Yes. Guilty? Yes. The two can go hand in hand. For the record, Rick, we now call them refrigerators...

What about "Post Pardon Depression?" That's when you greased Willy a few thousand bucks, only to find out that he forgot to pardon you..

Drown the BitSS. As for her husband how could he stand behind someone who killed his kids. I don't understand that. If my X ,even when she wasn't an X, would be dead
if she ever did this.

Glenn, that is what the Liberals and NOW do not want to understand or are too damn stupid to understand! They see Andrea as someone that the Medical System deprived of her treatment and therefore the Psychologist and Doctors should be guilty! They also see the children as chattel-this is the unfortunate part of the entire mess! Charlie
