If I read you right we should NOT plan for all possible responses to attacks on our country. If I understand you right if we're nuked we should hold a summit to find out the underlying problem. Did the terrorist have a bad childhood or did the USA not send enough food to their country. It had to be our fault.
We shouldn't bomb them back someone innocent might get hurt. To hell with American innocents because there is NO such thing. Their Great-great-great grandparents
MIGHT have been slave owners or some such crap.
I guess you thought Chamberlain did the right thing with the Nazis. He appease them and look what happened.
We should attack Iraq it will save lives in the long run. But the lives saved would be American not some foreignors who's lives are more important then ours in
most libs/socialist/dems opinion.

These are limited tactical weapons and what military would not have "plans" to use something that is in their arsenal? Plans do not mean we are going to Nuke the Middle East (not a bad idea) so relax! Talk about Madmen, and you accuse Bush and not Hussein and the other nuts from the Middle East!!!! Charlie

Every administration since Truman has had contingency plans for use of nukes. It's true that the arsenal has been scaled down since the end of the USSR but I suapect those plans NEVER went away. If you want to criticize GW, do it on his domestic agenda. THAT'S easy!

I agree with you Charlie. However, in an effort to be Pol.Corr. and sensitive to the efforts of all good pacifists, I believe that we should invite Bin Laden and all the troubled terrorists of the world to attend a special taping of Oprah's or Rosie's show so that we can better understand them. Maybe Senator Boxer can break away from her meaningful work on behalf of all good hypocrites to appear as a guest panelist to inquire of Bin Laden what he "really" meant on September 11th. We all witnessed what he engineered, but does he really hate the U.S. or did he have a misguided childhood or maybe he did not received a new red wagon as a child and this is just his way of expressing himself.

Just like a Democrat. It's apparently not good enough for the Government to spend Billions of Dollars on a program (in this case, defense). No, it's not complete until that same government has to WASTE those Billions by not being able to utilize what was so carfully created. And how fitting that we discuss this on the 6 month aniversary of the September 11th tragedy. I'll bet, cttmr, that you didn't have loved ones on south Manhattan Island that day. Because if you did, you'd surely be suing somebody for some sort of entitlement...

JBG, you should be ashamed of yourself! How insulting! Please get your facts straight: fingering "FAT" interns. Just don't say "lesbian". That's a sore subject with our pal Ricky...

I like to watch Lesbian Sex as long as the two participants are good looking! Is that using lesbian as a proper adjective Rick? Bubba enjoyed using his cigars on Monica and not on Hillary who would have liked to enjoy Monica but never had the chance! Charlie

cttmr: There you go again, disparaging the Commander in Chief. Just WHAT do YOU THINK our Government is supposed to do? Sit idly by and NOT make any plans? C'mon - we've got nukes, lot's of other countries have nukes. Are you that sheltered that you don't believe for a second that the United States isn't already targeted by the contingency plans of other countries? For God's sake... it takes a year for Congress to decide what namesake a U.S. Naval Ship will be dedicated to let alone attain the correlation of the CIA, SECNAV, CNO, and other interested parties combined efforts to put in effect a PLAN of ATTACK to MINIMIZE U.S. CASUALTIES in the event we are forced into an all out war. Would you rather wait, let the media blow it out of proportion, and get the concensus from the bleeding hearts of ill-informed Americans AFTER we get our nuts blown out of the water? We've had O.P. contingencies in effect for over 50 years. Our only problem now is that some jackass leaked out specific information that was highly sensitive to the media and (my humble opinion on that one) is that the **** should be charged with treason and executed (yes, with a gun).

Don't bother trying, Jimmy. Cttmr thinks that America got to be the Greatest country in the World by kissing up to every country that spit on us. We didn't kick Britian out, we asked nicely. We didn't bomb Japan, we negotiated. We didn't destroy Hitler and his Nazi regime, we catered to his sense of decency. And I'm sure that Saddam, Osama and the others will gladly stop being a threat if we just invite them over for a game of checkers.

Joe (Tailgater) great post, it is hard to believe that an active duty CPO would feel like he does! Charlie

Char: I have my doubts if he really is who he says he is - possibly a Reservist - but I question that as well. Maybe ... just MAYBE he'd be willing to post a recent picture of himself (holding the front page of let's say - NY Times so we can ascertain the date) while in uniform on the picture post forum wearing his khaki's with fellow CPO's in the mess decks.

CTTMR: It would be inappropriate to further continue with a post on a forum. I've stated my position to you on another post and I'm confident you'll read it. If you wish to discuss this matter any further, you may contact me via e-mail directly and we'll pursue it from there. I'll advise you now to be very cautious in how you respond from this point forward. Feel free to change your user name and start fresh on CBid as that would appear to me as your only sensible way out of this. End of topic - end of my posts to you.

To All,

I wish to express my apologies to all of you, as a member of the military I am subject to the Uniform Code Military of Justice (UCMJ). The posts I have submitted were copied from a public news letter called [email protected], I added no additional information to these posts. I enjoyed reading your comments for or against, but now that I have identified myself, I am in the wrong and will cease. I intended stimulating discussion and nothing more. This will be my last post, Respectfully CTTMR
