This seems to be the most infamous post on Cbid. It might as well be its own chat room.

Who cares about all that. If the animal could hunt you, than you may want to get it first. People that have never been attacked by a big animal don't understand the basic concept. Not all living creatures are benign, not matter how much they look like kitty cats.

re 813: Wow!!!

"[The bobcat] moved onto Frank Womack's property and attacked him. Officials said Womack, 71, managed to choke the animal until it stopped moving. He then hit it with a hammer until it died."

Coop, your Uncle Frank is one bad-ass dude!

Everyone looks at things differently but that just makes me sad. A critter has to be doing some pretty bad stuff before I'm going to kill it if I can't/won't eat it. And I am a hunter as well.
I love those wild cats. Seems kind of like killing a hawk or an eagle. Never have liked the idea of killing other predators. We have too much in common.

I am The Mrs. to the hillbilly post here:

Until you are put into a position where you need to decide wether to shoot one of God's beautiful creations I don't feel that you have the right to call someone the names that I have read here.

This animal was not stalked. To be honest the kids were in the backyard and this animal sat on the hay bails watching every move they made. All that we had to do was walk over to it and fire. The animal was no longer afraid of humans.

Regarding the chickens. We had taken the steps to build them a more secure area. Once a predator gets a taste it doesn't matter how secure an area you build.

I also do not believe in killing for sport. But, what was done in this situation was a necessary evil. I am an educated person and not some inbreed. I do save up for my childrens education. Before you start slamming someone for where they live you need to sit back and examin your own life. We all live in glass houses.

God did create all creatures great and small. So where do some of you get off thinking that you are holier than thou. It really hurts to know that there are people out there who can be so insecure with themselves that they have to slam others.

God bless you all.

Cannot forget why it was killed...... such a vivid description... by the "this animal sat on the hay bails watching every move they made."

I'd of repeatedly shot the damn thing...cause I am sure it didn't want to join the kids in a game of tag

He made it into a target to teach his kids how to kill one when he was out on the road. Now he's home.... hmmm.. think they were getting better than him and he's jealous.. Think

Cougar population exploded here in Oregon after azzholes from Kookifornia ran fake ads and got trapping and dog hunting outlawed. Now they call "professional" hunters (and pay them) who get to use hounds to hunt them when there is a problem cat. They've been spotted AT schools and are frequently killing pets at houses tha have been around for years (not a sprawl issue ).

Cats are beautiful majestic animals, but populations need to be responsibly controlled.

First time I actually saw this post, I would have gave that kitty a quick dose of lead poisoning also.

Been up to the Adirondack's here in NY a couple times after these elusive critters, had them close while using predator calls but never could get a clean crack at one. They appear out of nowhere and are gone just as fast. One of those would look really nice next to my Red and Gray Foxes in the den.

Fixed your post. Not advocating violence but the world would be better off without the Darwin Award winners etc.
