I talked to Marc for a few minutes the other night.
It's NOT GOOD !
He's living in a homeless shelter at this time.
His cigars are at a friend's house, and he asked me to post a note on the forums to tell any BOTL that he owes that HE WILL take care of you as soon as he can.

More details to follow after i talk to him again.

Thank you for understanding.

Is that really true? Did he rip-off people intentionally? How many? How much $$?

Or, did he just get in over his head given his particular circumstances? Do you believe he intends to "make good"?

Or, is he just having some very unfortunate, major, quality-of-life and health problems right now which, hopefully will improve, if not resolve?

Not saying you should trade with him if you don't want to. Just wondering where you are coming from; and if what we have "heard" is true, whether you have any room for any sympathy for him? That is, would you "walk a mile in his shoes"?

Elucidate your position on this, if you please. Did Marc have a trade or sale with you gone sour?

I wish Marc nothing but the best. Life can really put us through the spin cycle sometimes and that's when we need our friends the most. I have a feeling he will get things back together, he doesn't strike me as a quitter.

Hey i call it like i KNOW it. Im the only one who came forward though. Other forums and other botls here & there got the same story i did.

I tried helping out a botl, and over a few months time i gave ppp 250$. talked to him on the phone a few times, seemed on the up and up. then after about 2 months of no contact or nothing, yet he had time to come on here and comment on a thread or 2. I left emails, PMs too. He was selling stuff on ehad, i know this for a fact cause he told me so & gave me his user name. THERE was my red flag, selling cigars "bands" on that site. Where are mine?, wheres my money?

Im not commenting on anyones honor, other than the person named in the post. SO if it seems like im "crying", i have the rite and deserve it. With that being said, u know what u can do..........

Or he could just quit whining over it. He knew his predicament, never crossed his mind this might have happened? Marc gave everyone fair warning with his posts here what was going on with him. Just seems he had more commitments than he could handle
when life crashed around him, let it go. If he gets back on his feet I'm sure he will make good on his deals as his cigars are with someone else for know. Boo hoo!

I mean no disrespect, so please understand that. But David's first post here shows his true character and feelings towards PPP. In his original post a month back, he still kept his integrity in place while trying to resolve his issue. I'm aware of his situation much like everyone else, but iv never heard David bitch about it. His bitching was more of explaining his hard feelings, but that was it. David has a good heart too, just like I'm sure PPP does. Sometimes just an apology is all someone wants vs a no comment, excuse or no response at all.
No body wishes anything like this on anyone, even David said he didn't wish I'll on anyone. I just don't agree with attacking David when all he wanted to begin with was an explanation vs the run around.
Once again, I know I don't know many of you, nor do you know me but I just don't agree with throwing Kombat under the bus for something that's between him and another BOTL.

But I do understand kombat's point as well. I to did a deal with ppp and took quite a while of spinning wheels to get what I had paid for. And after I had written off the purchase as "charity" he finally came through with his end

I strongly disagree. Kombat typed and posted his comments. That made the matter public. It is no longer just between himself and another BOTL. If he was thrown under the bus, he did it to himself.

Shocker....I disagree with Robert and Busa. Robert go back and read post 5.

Kombat answered your question dude.

Busa sending "some smokes" for his $250 cash he lost trying to help out PPP? While that may actually be a nice jester, hardly what I'd call a consolation.

Beyond that, PPP is homeless. Why don't you focus your energy there? Seems too obvious perhaps....but getting in a pissing match over a guy explaining what happened when asked just doesn't make sense.

That's more along the lines of what should be going on in here IMO Anthony..

Even a "money for food & clothes" at this pt might suffice. Seems like PPP knows and has been part of this community for a long time. He'd be better served by helping him directly, rather than repaying his debts. For now at least.

As good a cause for a fundraiser as i've seen here in a while.

Yes indeed.....we tried before and many still send him money and food. I think when this was done last time we gathered enough money for him to stay at home for a few more months. He has had no luck finding work and the anxiety is getting to him. The good thing is if he is in chelter or home support they help alot with medical needs.

No matter what people say about u spazz,u ok in my book. Its a small book with lots of pics of course but its the point.

FWIW - I'm not up to date with PPP or his issues. I'm only commenting because I read through this thread and others' comments seem similar to what I dealt wth in the near past.

I'll chime in with a little defense of Kombat though really quickly and then butt-out.

I've been owed $100+ (still am actually) and I can only imagine if someone owed me $250 and others said "give him a break" or "You knew what you were getting into" I would get a little feisty too. What Kombat knew was that he was paying $250 for goods. He has not received his goods or his money back. I also entered a deal, goods for money. I provided goods and got no money. Deal NOT complete. Kombat seems to be in the same boat I was in.

Offering cigars, while a GREAT gesture, doesn't cover his monetary loss, nor does it cover the exact cigars he was offered (I'm assuming "aged" knowing PPP) so sending something else is akin to sending a 32" HDTV when you ordered a 50" HDTV. both nice TVs but not what he ordered. Bad example, but hopefully the point is made.

I made this offer, via another board, for my missing money - I asked that someone vouching for the guy and saying "I know him, he's good for it" cover owed payment at a reduced rate. In my case, I offered someone cover $100 and they could keep the extra $50 IF he paid THEM back just for taking the chance. I would "sell" this guy's debt at a loss. No one covered him.

Maybe Kombat would be fine with someone paying "some" of his owed refund until Marc can pay whomever covers his debt for him.

Along the money lines...My two cents - If you're going to raise money, the first of it should go to those PPP is indebted to, to clear his mind and plate of those extra obligations.

Just some thoughts.

Lastly, I'm not going to get worked up over this like I did on the other board...it's a lot easier to stay partial when you're not personally involved!

I have not been able to get back in touch with Marc since our previous phone call.
I will continue to try.

This whole post has taken on a life of it's own, and gotten away from it's original intent, which was Marc wanting people on the boards to know WHY he has not made good on his deals, and also that HE WILL do so as soon as his situation allows. I KNOW this matter weighs heavily on his mind.

I can understand BOTH sides of the responses posted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I wish we could all stop the bickering, ( for lack of a better word ), and get back to the issue at hand . . . Marc !

I appreciate ALL the offers of help being offered up, and I agree with KPP that just giving some cigars to the brothers that feel slighted is not the answer.
Personally, I think that a better idea would be for people to send him a few bucks, just $5 or $10 each, to give him the means to get the pending cigars to their intended recipients.
I think it would do Marc a world of good to know that he doesn't have these obligations hanging over his head, and would ease his depression BIG TIME!

I can't POSSIBLY imagine what it is like for him living in his present situation, and I pray that I, or anyone else on these forums, will never have to deal with similar circumstances.

I will keep you all posted, as best I can.

Thanks !

jes

Well said Jes.

I agree that the intention of the thread may have been missed, but it seems to have been missed by the folks who are owed the money...ya know.

I don't know that sending a guy enough money to ship cigars is the answer though. IF I were in his situation, I wouldn't be using $5-10 to ship anything. I'd be using it to eat!

Cigars are a luxury and PPP doesn't seem to have a want or need for luxury at this point.

Is there anyone who lives close by that could kind of "take over" his stock...maybe the friend who is storing them can get the money to cover shipping instead??

It just seems like there are folks ready to help...it's just a matter of finding the right help.

Maybe Kombat (and anyone else who is owed) could provide a suggestion for a solution??
