wow. just did a search and it does seem like it is gone.

Unless it happened over the weekend, I don't think there were in prohibited references.

I guess it is deemed to be in competition with CFest.

Sad.

This place is starting to be a joke. Its not even funny anymore. They are the big bully on the playgroung, like a small little get together 2000 miles away somehow is gonna effect them, very very childish

Maybe just keep it as simple as possible... "I'm organizing a rocky mtn herf in boulder on these dates...who's coming?" If there happens to be a beerfest or craft show or star trek convention or OTHER event in the sAme place at the same time...well what a happy coincidence! YOU, however, are really only concerned with getting together with some forum folks for a herf in CO.

I agree that this has gotten pretty stupid, especially in light of some of the pretty abusive diatribes STILL present on the trade board.

I had a question at the end of the second post that I didn't see the answer to.
Do you need to get there a couple hours early to get a table, or can you just show up at one and get one?

First come first serve. What do you think???
Unless you have VIP tickets. Then they might hold one for whenever you decide to arrive.
Good Luck.

I understand first come first serve. My question went to the quantity of seats they put out. I have never been, so I think it's a fair question to ask.

Wasn't trying to be a hard-azz. Will be my first year also. As it is the 3rd year and the hotels are all booked, my thought is a private table will sought after by everyone. So my suggestion... get there early.

uh-oh... this may be gone again.

Opelmanta asked me this question yesterday - Why do we continue to take down the thread. My response to him:

But if I had to guess, its because its being called a Cigar Fest. We've had issues in the past with people using that phrasing and have taken steps to stop it. CigarFest is a trademarked name for our cigar event. Allowing anyone else to use it lessens that trademark and could eventually cause it to become a generic name for all cigar events.

I know it seems like big, bad CI is beating up on little herfs around the country, but we've spent a good chunk of change getting it trademarked. There's also the possibility of someone using the name and something bad happens. It could become a reflection of CI. For example, lets say someone has a Cigar Fest in Yabippidy, KS and there's a mass murder there. Now and forever, CigarFest will have that stigma.

So my request to you is that you call it something other than a CigarFest. Then we'll be happy to keep it alive and thriving!

I guess my question would be why were we not told this about the third post into the first thread 3 or4 mos. ago? It would have squelched all this angst and speculation and saved all the info that was lost when the OP was mysteriously deleted.

All understood now. Believe the intention behind "cigar fest" is an abbreviated slang-term for "Cigar Festival". Wasn't even aware you trademarked "CigarFest" as in one-word. Big grey area here as again the intention was a slag 2-word abbreviated term for the actual name of the event.

Censorship foul.

I figured as much regarding tables, but I just wanted to be sure because we have 4 hours each way of driving on Sat. and I don't think they want to have to get up on 5 a.m. on Sat. unless they have to. Enjoy the Boulder herf and thanks for the info. Herfing

Understood. But its only in print that you see the difference that word spacing makes. When you say it, it all sounds like cigarfest.

We don't mean to be bullies about this and I apologize if it comes off that way. But if others use the term, after a while it becomes public property and all the time and money we've spent developing it is lost.

^^^Your always standup girl, If we call it RMCF from now on, I hope both parties can be happy.

AVSFAN, if your going to be there, you should come say hi. I'll be the long haired guy posted up at a table somewhere near the entrance. The name is Dan.

Everyone else, it's only 4 days away! Rest up and prepare yourselves for a good time.

Tables are first come, first served, and the fest is outside, so the tables and chairs are metal porch-style furniture, with room for 8 per table.

The bad news is that there are not nearly as many tables as there will be people looking for them.

I'm about 2-1/2 - 3hrs West of Boulder.
Downhill into Boulder coming over Loveland Pass.
The same race had a leg up in Minturn this past weekend. 2hr delays heading East into Denver.

Soon as they let you in, grab a table, and sit there until the fest opens.

There was some interest expressed in another event on Friday night in Denver. Jonathan Drew will be at a small shop on 6th avenue from 5-8pm. Specials and a roller will be in attendance. JdN is also part of the event.

That would be cool but we're meeting at Johnnys. We will hit the after party, hopefully they will have some specials for this also.

Just putting it out there. Another brother asked about it, and it's only 30min or so from Boulder. I can't make either one. Plus it looks like my road-trip starts 2hrs earlier Saturday morning due to road closures. Hoping there's not too much trouble getting into town.

Bill, I'm hoping to be in line around 11am. This year there will be more people than last and I wanna get a dang table again. I may somehow try and get two as I have 4-5 other people meeting me there.

If you are interested in going to the event Carl mentioned, it's not a biggie to me at all. So far, I think it was just gonna be me, you, and DED meeting at the place in Boulder. I think there may just be a chitload of people going to the afterparty after the main event, so going to the event in Denver Friday night might insure getting what you may be looking for or just getting a smaller crowd to hang with JD. I'm in for whatever ya'll wanna do, just let me know.

I probably won't feel like driving back to Denver. I'm good with just meeting at Johnnys. Not worried about picking anything up.

Call me Friday afternoon. Like I said I should be at the Millenium around noon, take a nap and head over for the pre-herf herf.

I can get in line with you, we can each grab a table if we can.

Jonathan Drew put this on his Facebook page-
Please look for the "CIGARS 4 WARRIORS" booth located right next to us. We gonna raise some Stogies for our brothers overseas.

Sounds like something a few of us would bring extra sticks for.

Friendly reminder. Leaving early tomorrow. Trying to hit Pedros on the way. Anybody who wants to place an order send me a PM. Would also be good to have a # or two in case you want to check prices (not to mention finding you azzhats at a table)...

I'd look but it seems to have disappeared.

Been in Boulder since Sunday. Been to Nederland, Golden, Fort Collins, Estes Park, Arvada, and every friggin' yarn shop the wifey sees along the way!

I do not think the bike race will come within a mile of the RMCF site but will sure make traffic heavy anywhere in town. I will try to be there about 11 am to get in line also.

If anyone needs a ride send me a PM and I will send my cell number. See you at Johnney's Friday.
