I am going to write up the recipe. I suck at writing recipes. I have been making this for so long and learned it from my mom, that I don't follow a paper recipe. I just know it by heart.

I promise to get to it though.

LilSledn has been BEGGING me to make this! And yes the season is right around the corner!

I stocked up on flour already! Angel

I always start writing up the recipe and get side tracked. I so stink at writing things up. It so easy to make though. A cigar friend of ours tried to make it just by looking at the picture. He got it close. He liked it. I gave him some tips.

Was he looking forward to school? The two little one will be going to school next week, Tristan started this week already. I am hoping after things settle down here in couple of weeks(my sister in law is having a c section this Friday and my mother in law is turning 60 in a week or two), we could plan to go somewhere, I want to go camping.

He started a new school! So he's a bit nervous. But I think he is going to be fine. So this is going to be the first time all of your kids are in school at the same time right? That's going to be NICE! Haha Good luck to your sis in law!

Camping!!! That would be fun. I bought Wes a new 3 room tent for Christmas last year.

Chicken and dumplings right near zenith of 'heirarchy of good eats'!

Okay. Dumplings. Get a pot. Fill it with water. Put on the stove. Turn on burner. Get that water boiling! Get a bowl. Put some flour in it. (I don't measure but probably 1 cup or 2.). Then eggs. I start with 3 eggs and add one until I get the consistancy I want. So not to clumpy, but not too watery. If it just needs a little something, you can add a few tablespoons of water. Presto!

Now, when water in pot boils, get a regular spoon. Meaning a teaspoon you would use to eat with. Emerge just the spoon part, not the handle, in the boiling water. Take out and start spooning dumpling mixture in the boiling water to the bottom of the pot. Don't pour in the spoonfuls. Tap spoon to the bottom. Keep doing that. Dumplings will float to the top when almost done. About a minute. Let them float another minute. Take out the cooked ones and put in a bowl. Continue spooning dumpling mixture in water until no more. :)

My dear departed grandmother used to make this for me when I was a kid. She grew up in the hills of Tennessee. 3rd grade education.
My wife and i met in Colorado springs found out later that our grandparents lived 7 miles apart in Indiana.
We went to see them one summer and although grandma was nearly blind by this time she still made me a pot of chicken and dumplings god bless her heart!

for a quick dumpling I take flour tortillas and quarter them and put them in my soup.... Not like these, but really good after they sit in the soup and soak up the goodness.... need to drop them in individually so they don't stick together...

I would happily do that. But the dumplings... They wouldn't keep for that long. Always best when fresh! I promise to make it if you two ever happen to visit. How about that?

When I see some weird dude at my door with a gator, I'll know it's Busa. Until then, my flour and eggs stay put. Along with my chicken and veggies. LOL
