Sheesh, we even have Korean redneck hicks smokin' cobs? Well you are stationed in Tenn-tucky!

Sarcasm

on the briar front got the garage sale estate pipes looked at by the pipe expert at my local shpo. They're all fairly run of the mill basket pipes, so if my efforts to restore them fail/destroy, I'm only out the $3 per I spent and my effort. Best one is a Chacom fwiw.

343 Big Star Cigar Delta Mojo in a mini cob

Dunno if it's better baccy or better packing but getting less tongue bite and better burn throughout. plus smoking a bit slower now too. Also just placed an order for a whole bunch from the lil sister site.

Anybody try the Lane Brand?

GAE, you got some "estate cobs"? I've heard rumor of long lasting cobs but thought that was like unicorns, Flor del Todos in yellow cellophane, California gas for less than $4 a gallon....

Let me get/make a retort and experiment on these first. If I don't blow myself up (not that I didn't try a few times courtesy of the Navy's explosives....) or catch one of the pipes on fire I might try restoring other folks' pipes, but not yet.

i'veactually read that most MMs with proper care and maintenance will last a VERY long time. some dude that runs a blog/forum said he had one for 30+ years.

was really wanting to see if anybody can modify cobs. ie: hardwood plug

Lots of, haha. I am getting pretty good now, once you get the feel for the pack down you will be ok. I still use the tamper to re-pack it once in a while, especially right after the first couple puffs, it always loosens up for me right after I light it.

i read, on another forum, about peeps getting the seconds batch if that is what you mean. no one had issues with the quality, but the variety was varied on all responses as to what was in the mix. most responders bought multiple times so it must be good. ron hasn't been around lately, but wait and see what he says

yea, the reviews on the website that sells the grab bag 2nds samplers are all good. and the price can't be beat, especially since im still a n00d and not very picky.
