537 - a little bit of strikeforce on top of a bowl of lj heart burley... thanks again critter for sending these samples...

I can't handle the strikeforce straight... it has a finishing taste that reminds me of the body odor of an ice cream truck driver or 7-11 worker.... but I can handle a pinch on top of the lj heart...

Ron makes some decent refillable soft flame lighters. Some Tractor Supply stores carry them. I use them or the fancy xikar one Numi smacked me with.

No......G.L.Pease Montgomery mixed 2-1 with Kendal Kentuckey. The KK was a little much on its own so I had a brainstorm.BTW it's quite good.

Grab you some cobs first.......you'll thank me later.

Orlik's Golden Sliced.......good starter Virginia that you will return to many times over.

Mac Baren Golden Extra......great starter Burley

Dunhill De Luxe Navy Rolls......A vaper that will win you over.

If you like Latakia your going to have to seek help elsewhere.....why smoke a camp fire when I can build one.

Read through this post......lots of other great baccy's listed. You live in an area where I would think your local B&M would have some good options. However Mail order rules if you like variety.

Ron, on the subject of cobs... I got one at the local drugstore, just a plain old mm... the thing burned hotter than a firecracker with all the tobacco I tried and nothing would stay lit... I figured I had to be doing something wrong...

then I remembered I had an old dr grabow sitting in my desk from 3 or 4 years ago when I dabbled in pipes a bit... I dug it out, cleaned it up a bit and tried it out... it was much, much cooler, and everything is smoking much better, staying lit much better in it than in the cob...

I know grabow's are nothing special and a lot of people would recommend a cob over a grabow... is it possible the cob I got was just defective in some way? do you recommend I get another cob and try it out?

Also, I hear you're making some pretty sweet custom pipe lighters these days and would love to put in a special order... Herfing

Those little drug store cobs have very thin bowl walls and from my experience as well they do burn hot.I have a couple but i use them differently.Either as a test run on a new baccy in which i would pack a very small amount of baccy in the bowl(half full at most)or when I have very little time and want a quick bowl........again half to maybe 3/4's full.Look for a Country Gentleman,Diplomat or Great Dane Egg........all MM products.

BTW not sure how that got started but I am NOT making custom lighters..........y'all stop that now or I'll send you wet matches.
