Does anyone know where I might buy a pipe tobacco known as Bohemium Scandal? I understand that it is no longer being made. Pray

Just did a quick search and GL on this one. Not only has it not been made in a few years now but it looks like you will be paying over $300 a tin if you do find it.

Our Master Blender tells me this:

The problem is that Bohemian Scandal used Syrian Latakia, which is very hard to find. Probably the closest thing would be Peter Heinrichs No. 169, but it's not going to be a perfect match.

And Syrian or not, I think any type of latakia in a pipe tobacco blend should be considered a problem... Herfing

Or you can chop up a DE Kentucky Fire Cured, stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

Well since we don't have a pipe/pipe tobacco board, this is the closest thing to it. d'oh!

Don't be haters! Shame on you Remember that everyone hates tobacco users so we all have to stick together.

Bohemian Scandal was made by GL Pease back in 2004 or 2005 or so. There was a fire that burned a warehouse that contained all the supply of one of the tobaccos that were in the blend. Political strife, violence and turmoil in the area of the world where it was grown made it impossible to obtain more of that type of tobacco. This resulted in four (I think) GL Pease blends becoming unavailable. One of the highest regarded of the blends was Bohemian Scandal. I had two tins that I had obtained to age, and once the price started to go up, I sold them on ebay. The first one I sold went at the 100 dollar buy it now that I set within a couple of hours of listing it. The guy who bought it, said if I ever wanted to sell more, he would buy at the same price (at the time, tins were going for around 85 bucks or so in bidding). I got short on cash and sold him my second tin a couple of months later. I had bought the tins for around 14 bucks each. This occurred around 2008.

I suggest looking on ebay. Their regulations prohibit the selling of tobacco products, but people get around it by selling the collectible tins (that just happen to be sealed and contain tobacco).

I don't think like you Bur. I come from a day when we said words like "Please," "Thank You" and many other terms you may not be acquainted with. We also opened doors for women, stood up in crowded buses or trains so that women, the elderly and the handicapped could sit down. I know this may seem a bit archaic to you, but to people in my age bracket, it is a way of life. My "thank you" to Trish was genuine and I don't have any desire to become a "Platinum" member, especially since I didn't know it existed or what I would have gained by being a member. fog

Easy there old man. . . fog fog

Don't strain yourself too hard, Bur was making a joke. I'm not sure of his age, but pretty sure, Bur isn't a kid. He's also proudly served our great country and continues to support it.

There is no such thing as a Platinum membership. Thus all the jokes and add references too it.

I am sure your Thank you was sincere, and you don't have to be a self-proclaimed old timer to have manners. Every generation thinks something was lost on the next generation, its been happening for years. We have all heard a "back in my day" story from someone when we were young. Guess what, there will always be someone who thought it was better "back in the day".

QMPASH,

Yes Sir, I was making a joke. I still freak out female co-workers, many of whom are former Law Enforcement/Military special programs (i.e. could kick my azz) by walking on the outside toward the street for fear my 79 year old Steel Magnolia Mom will come find me and join in the azz-kicking!

Trish is an awesome lady, fully deserving of our love and appreciation. See, I can suck up too, especially now that I know there is a TITANIUM Membership. Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top, Trish? I'm still stuck at dented billy beer can membership!

BOMB TRISH!
