Recently bought a fiver of Gurkha Shaggy Lanceros. It was bad enough to make me swear off of them forever. Also got a 5-pack of Cohiba (Nicaragua) Pequenos tins. They threw in a fiver of Robustos to sweeten the deal. Haven't smoked these for years. When I first smoked them I didn't think they were anything special and that they were overpriced. Either my palette or the brand has improved. WOW, what a good smoke. The price is still a drawback but it is not an impossible hurdle. I will be back on this one. Herfing

I had heard the Gurk Shaggy lanceros were good, but I have yet to try one. I think I have a fiver resting. Not a fan of Cohibas (NC).

I've had the gurkha shaggy and it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't memorable either. I've just stayed away from gurkha since I've been on here.

The problem I had with the Shaggy is that, like most Gurkhas, about halfway through, it starts unraveling. One of a fiver is forgiveable, but all 5? And the Cohiba Cameroon Leaf, was a memorable experience. It was easily, one of the best cigars I ever smoked at any price.

Was hoping that wasn't the case on the Shaggy- had the same problem with another Gurkha type, but not surprised...
