Home, picked up girls around 6:30 and they are fast asleep. Time for some quiet time, a beer, and a cigar ;)
As expected, a totally different vibe this year. Jeff was missed. BUT, we still had quite the feast. From deer sausage, smoked turkey, grilled and smoked salmon, pan-fried halibut (omg it was so fcking good), ribeyes, and much more, no one went hungry. If you did, you were a vegetarian.
Prop definitely manned the grill most of the weekend while others also pitched in and did a ton. Did I mention Ray making the pan-seared halibut? Joan, BJ, Thelo, and many others helped a ton.
Company was great, cigars overflowed, brotherhood and sisterhood were kept alive and new friendships were made.
Dont feel like doing a huge synopsis, but a couple of highlights (or lowlights I suppose):
- Dont ever leave your cheetos out around Prop.
- It's pronounced "SELLO", not "CEE-LO"
- Dont expect to guzzle 1/4 jar of moonshine and not soon pass out
- Not everyone smokes just cigars at the herf....
- If you borrow money or trade cigars, be sure to follow through on your end
- 2-wheel drive Ford trucks dont do well in mud
- It's ok for one hillbilly to tell another hillbilly that they aren't a real hillbilly
- turkey necks sometimes look like penises
- no matter how many times something falls over, some people NEVER give up
- Someone lost a lot of weight since last time I saw her and she looked fabulous
- The herf can go on without Jeff, but it would be a lot cooler if he was there
See ya next year, assholes!
