I've read the description on asylums dragons milk and it says the cigars are aged for 48 hours in a barrel that once contained a stout beer.

48 hours to me makes me think this is a gimmick when it comes to selling cigars with little to no change in the cigar.

In my experiences putting cigars down for a years rest before smoking them helps so I really don't see how any of the nuances of the stout could possibly permeate the cigar in only 48 hours? Anyone ever notice a change in a cigar after 2 days? If I smoke a cigar I've never thought this needs another 48 hours rest then it'll be much improved.

So my question remains how much can a cigar change in only two days?

Here's the link to the description in the auction.

Hmm. It sounds like a marketing ploy, but I've never tried one. I've heard of folks storing cigars inside empty whiskey bottles, but I wouldn't do it.

The bourbon they age in beer barrels is interesting. Spicy.

The cigars, not interested. Just another gimmick cigar.

I dunno about this. I tend to agree with most of the posters but it is possible. The point is that the cigar maker could just "say" that he put them in the barrel and save the cost of buying the barrels in the first place and then wasting two days of aging. If they do what they say they are doing (aging them in beer barrels) there must be a reason. The only way to tell for certain is to smoke the cigar before and then one after, aging. On the other hand, if you like the cigar, who cares???

#5 yup. Smoke one before, then after. Maybe JD can sell "Dragon's Teats" (pre-aged) along with the barrel aged Dragon's Milk.
