Don't Leave Home Without It?

Who never leaves home without a cigar or two (or more), even when you are going somewhere that you know you can't smoke or you wont have time to smoke? Do you pack anyway?

At minimum, I pocket a tin of Padron Corticos just in case an opportunity presents itself. My wife has a breathing condition and most of my friends do not like smoke so I often end up abstaining rather than than suffer the dreaded Cigaris interuptus. On the other hand, I find it's worse to stumble on a perfect opportunity for a cigar, only to have nothing or be surrounded by convenient store selections.

Even when I don't have a cigar, i always seem to have a lighter or matches and I keep a punch on my key chain.

Same here. Always in the car or travel bag. Also like keeping keeping a few tubos (like Camacho) that I can just toss into a pocket with my lighter

Rarely pack a cigar, but theres always a lighter, punch and clipper in the car. If there's a good chance of a smoke, I take a herfador too or a pipe and some tobacco.

I've got an Otterbox that holds eight or ten smokes. It serves as a drybox also and goes everywhere I go. And if I have britches on I have a cutter and lighter.

My 3 Finger case is always in my camera/laptop bag which is always with me with whatever I may feel like smoking. Sitting next to it is a Bugatti B-2002, so I have fire and a punch.

Only bring a smoke if I know I'm gonna be smoking.

I tried a herfador in the truck, just threw 5 shortfill machine made Ashton's in there, but by the 2nd or 3rd day they were definitely feeling the effects and not smoking as well as they normally do.

I've got a stainless two finger cigar case I'll throw a couple in if I think I might have the chance.

More often than not if it's a gamble, I just pack a pipe and toss it in the truck.

You leave this in your car? I just got a 5 stick Herfador for travel, but I would think it would get to hot in the car or be impossible to control the humidity. I guess I just am still in the "Oh, watch the temp to avoid larva and beetles, watch the humidity to prevent bursting or drying out" stage of learning safe storage.

I tend to make sure I'm prepared, just in case - usually accompanied by an eyeroll from my wife. But Tom's right, I'd rather be prepared all the time and rarely get to than miss out on a great opportunity.

It's a Herf-a-dor 5 capacity Traveldor. I keep a small tube shaped 1 1/2" bottle of 65RH beads in it along with 5 different sized cigars. The tight construction and foam insulation on the inside have kept all the cigars fresh for the three years I've used it. It's tighter than my end table cabinet humidor, in which I have to hydrate the beads every three weeks or so. The beads in the Traveldor only need water every few months.

I never leave a room without a cigar even in my home.

Wow. I would love a car humidor but my car will get 100F and i worry about temp. Even when driving with A/C my console compartment or under seat get hot from transmission or road heat. I have a hard time trusting insulation alone. A mobile refrig unit maybe powered by a small nuclear reactor?........if you could do it with solar you could harness the heat creating the prob. Right now i have mini humidors in 4 different locations i frequent but a car humidor would be great!

Has anybody tried those individual pouched cigars that are supposed to stay perfectly humidified until opened? Was thinking of tossing a few in my golf bag for emergencies! Several different brands out there including several st CI and on the sister-site.

Pouches work but temp control still an issue......at least down here at 27th parallel.

I just got one of the 5 stick travel Herf-a-dors, I figured it would be good for travel in checked luggage or something more short term. Like tampatom, I worry about the heat, beads or packs could control humidity fairly well.

Now I have seen small refrigerators that plug into the cig lighter, they could work for long travel heat/humidity control/

Keep my 10 count herfador stocked to some level at all times. I always go by the philosophy if you think you might need it, bring it!
