Saw these at my B&M and they look interesting. Extremely oily. However without having tried or heard of them before I couldn't pull the trigger on the $19 each after tax.

I see the msrp is in line with Ligas and there's currently a 5er here for $37 with 90 mins left. Anybody have an opinion on these?

Thanks,
Rob

Good opinion of PDR and Abe Flores cigars, but I"m a bit reluctant to pull the trigger on an unknown that's at my maximum price per stick. Try a search and see if anyone has a review out there. It's probably a great cigar, but it may not be in everyone's wheelhouse.

I read a couple reviews which were good. I suppose for a sub $40 5er there isn't much risk.

they do "sound" good..............couldn't find too many reviews either.......
it's a PDR...........

good to know you're going to fall on the sword for us...............
we'll expect a full review in a few months........
then, if they're good, you'll be expected to buy a few boxes and send us ____________________ Committee members some samples.

and then, and only then, will you be considered for __________________ membership, and you would be the third member from that

The AB-75 Maduro Limitado is a very good smoke at Cigar Bid prices.
Try to score a 5-Pack for $34 of the 6"x58 Edmundo.

Hahaha Ok ok, I'll buy a box or two. I heard there's a special Hawaiian release as well. Wonder if our very own CK has tried it.

No, not yet. I have a couple of them resting since I was told that they could use some nap time. They do look pretty good and every time I open up the cooler that has them, I keep wondering if I should just light one up.

I know they are. Here is my predicament...I have so much more to smoke that I don't want to smoke the good stuff all the time.

CK, I promise you, I WILL smoke one in 2014.

I have a couple of the A. Flores Privada Series I'd trade if you want to try those.

Finally ashed up a Paka Ali'i yesterday - it was very good! Easy draw, lots of smoke and very tasty. Have one more left and will wait a few more months before torching it up.

Edit (2015-07-28): found another box...and bought it! d'oh!

I bought a 5'er of these a few weeks ago along with a 5'er of the Perdermo2 Limited Edition.
I thought the AFR75 was a good robust smoke, but needed a little bit more rest. I did still enjoy it very much and think I will add another 5'er to the box.

It certainly outperformed the P2, which I thought was lacking much flavor and kind of harsh.

As other posters have already observed, the AFR-75 is OK at CBid prices. I think I got these for 5 - 6 bucks each and thought they were not bad at that price. Of course, that's probably about half of this cigar's highly inflated MSRP.

Like most PDR products, construction on these is pretty good. They're not powerhouses but have some flavor. Overall, a decent choice if you like a chewy, fairly large-ring, medium-strength maduro.

That said, no way would I pay anywhere close to MSRP for these -- they're not a $12 cigar.
