Recently split a bundle of Johnny-O's Factory Esquisitos (5 5/8 X 46) dark perfecto, and after smoking one ROTT am beginning to regret not keeping them all! They smelled fantastic upon arrival offering an earthy peatiness aroma. The wrapper presents a rich oily dark brown leaf, not wanting to say mocha in color as I didn't taste any mocha flavor. There was a unique sweet tobacco flavor that carried throughout, and was very tasty on the lips. Found it medium to full with a great spice of the earthy peatiness aroma on the outer palate. Received Saturday, and dry-boxed for 12hrs at approx 30% Rh. The draw was a bit tight, and required a few relights. Around the last 3rd I had to trim the foot due to the oil build-up, but I love when a cigar is rich with oils. No bitterness at all. Will dry-box for at least 18hrs next time. The ash was a very dark gray. I attribute these factors to the cigars being fresh. With 12-15 months rest I expect the draw to open more and the tobaccos and oils to meld very nicely. Think its a great cigar ROTT and look forward to enjoying a couple more before putting to rest.

A few months ago I did a "Weight of the Smoke" experiment inspired by a scene from the movie "Smoke" and Sir Walter Raleigh. Thought it would be interesting to weigh a fresh cigar and then compare the weight in 12-15 months.

Johnny-O's Factory Esquisitos (5 5/8 X 46) dark perfecto
Total Weight: 8.91 grams
Nub, Cut & 2nd Trim: 2.20
Ash: 1.10
The Weight of the Smoke: 5.61 grams (62.96%)

Sounds like a great smoke, have you tried the intemperance BA XXI Envy? It's a short Perfecto that offers similar sweet Tabaco, spices and cocoa. Also medium to full.

I have tried them and the CroMagnon Mode 5. John's Esquisitos are much different than the Intemperance & CroMag. The flavors though rich are softer and more balanced. Not as "in-your-face".

Interesting. Shipped one out today and it weighed 8.87gm.
Didn't lose much weight due to freshness compared to arrival.
Not quite ready, but well worth the wait IMHO.

Have seen some interest in the Johhny-O's recently.
Still have a few of these resting. Time to revisit, and maybe order another bundle.

Have you weighed one recently?

Still have the Johhny-O you gifted me but keep looking at it and wondering when I should ash it up.

A favorite Johnny-O cigar that I still haven't forgotten.
