29951 - H&H Freight Train in an "Elf" Cobbit cob my dear wife got me for my b-day. If you haven't seen these MM is making a line of cobs called "Cobbits" after the LOTR series, the E;f is a churchwarden and I love it. On a side note, I've been under the weather for a few weeks and haven't been smoking my pipe much....Freight Train in the morning, well, first time I've ever had that much of a nic-kick in memory. Almost had to pull the jeep over.

That is some stout stuff. You need to try some SG 1792 if you want a kick.I can't even smoke the stuff.........not in my wheelhouse at all.

I went through a 1/2# of 1792 some years back, split a lb. with a buddy. You definitely need to dedicate a pipe to the stuff, tonkin is permeating for sure, but I loved it. I gravitate to the stronger stuff and this was right directly in my wheelhouse. Only stuff that was stronger in my experience was a black plug tobacco I was sent from a BOTL in Ireland, wish I could remember what it was called but it was an 11 on a scale of 10. Loved that too, actually.

Grrrr sent it to me in a trade on another board but I knew a lot of people knew him here so I felt the need to include it. By the way he hammered me in a noob pipe sampler trade, still same old Grrrr.

Gawith's tobacco is notoriously wet straight from the tin.

8-10 seconds in the microwave works wonders.

29971 - 5 Bros in a mini-cob

BTW Shaun, you smoked some of this recently. Did yours look like it had seeds in it? Mine is really finely shredded with small flecks of something both loose and on some ribbons. Still smoked and tasted fine but never seen that before.

Did a double look and yeah I guess there is something in there that looks like it could have been a seed but I think it is stem shredded or something though. Thought it was ok but needs more to it to keep my attention so once I get more blends under my belt I will probably mix it in with some other stuff.

29990- PS Bullseye luxury flake

Was really enjoying it then about half way through the bowl I could not get any smoke. tried poking around in there and nothing, had to dump it out and still could not get anything through the pipe so blew through it and out popped what I am guessing was a piece of tobacco. Is that normal to happen once in awhile or did I pack it wrong because it was burning fine for the top half?

Sounds like it was packed too tight or too wet possibly.

Thanks Z it may have been a little tight as I tried rolling the flakes into a ball and stuffing them in and it was kid of tight getting them in there.
