17 is a fantastic gun
are you guys stuck with 10rd mags out there or are you allowed the scary 17rd ones?

sounds like your wife has an easy gift idea for you next time around (glock19)

Yup 10 rounds only. Luckily with the Blue Label Program most Glocks run about $480 out the door with 3 mags.

Wow that is rediculous. I could say so much but I'm sure you've heard or thought all of it before.

It's a ridiculous state... Not sure how other states are, but California requires taxes be collected on all online purchases, not just tobacco products... That means eBay, Amazon, any purchases online...

Why blame the B&M because the customers (your friends) didn't know what they where buying.

It's this kind of attitude that gives B&M owners a bad rep.

Can't believe you would honestly expect being able to exchange/return cigars !?!? Another noob learns a lesson.

Not all B&M owners are created equal, that's a fact and I'm pretty sure you'd have to agree with that.
A good one will try to winnow out what the person they are buying for smokes or likes. If the purchaser doesn't know the recommendation would be find out, gift certificates, or just get 1 or two from a solid cigar maker and not throw a few Macanudos or Rocky Patels in a bag to make a sale.

For gifts in general, sometimes ya have to accept and be gracious as the spirit of the gift is what counts, not what the gift is. Sometimes pulling up our big boy pants and saying thank you is what we should do, slipper socks, ugly azz sweater, pink bunny suit, or gag a maggot dog rocket cigars.

I would agree with the first statement. However, you don't blame the store because the consumer doesn't know what they are buying. Just like buying a TV. You hope the store directs you towards the correct purchase. But in the end it is up to the consumer to educate themselves about their purchase.

The shop owner may very well have tried to determine what Gummy likes. The shop owner is not a mind-reader however, and we have no idea what information was relayed to him or discussed. And obviously Gummy's not a regular or the owner may have remembered previous purchases.

But in the end we've all learned something. Before sending Gummy a RAOK check to be sure he like the cigars first. Buy from a shop that accepts returns, and include the receipt so he can return/exchange them so we don't have to hear him complain about a receiving bad cigar gift.

At least Gummy didn't receive pre-cut Victor Sinclairs…

i really think you have the situation pegged all wrong

it was meant as a lamentation of something we have likely all experienced, not an ungrateful whine session

you really do your darndest to see the negative in posts. im not sure if you are just grumpy in general or a glass half empty type of guy or what but i certainly do not appreciate your endless character accusations and patronizing.

other than that, by all means have a great day.

You're the one that complained about a gift received. Then you blamed the gifts on "shoddy" B&M's. How can that not be seen as negative???

I never complain when given a gift. How does that make me grumpy LOL?

Guys can we please stop bickering and keep discussing how restrictive California is on everything. Sarcasm

To review so far we've discussed gun restrictions and paying taxes on all online purchases. What's next?

It's a crime for law enforcement agents to report illegal immigrants to ICE...

also, bars have to close at 2am... Even at Indian casinos...

If it weren't for ocean fishing, the beach, the decent weather, the cultural diversity, the fantastic agriculture, and the wonderful food, I'd be out of here... Actually, at this point, it's just the ocean fishing keeping me here...

I have to add "family" to my list of why I stay on this crummy island. They're probably the biggest reason why I haven't moved. Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide. Limited entertainment options too. If I could only live in Wisconsin so I could attend Packer games....

Sarcasm

Are you kidding me? Live in Wisconsin? With all that snow? NFW! They show enough Green Bay games to give me my fix (...although sure wish they hadn't televised yesterday's debacle...d'oh! ).
