9.80 a stick. That's what? Around 50 cents - a dollar average per stick savings?

I think the Mothership has them for $49.50/5 pk. right now. That's if I'm reading it correctly on my little piss ant screen on my phone.

This one is more like it, usually try to keep them under $30 but the lancero fan boys limp wrists allow them to hit the bid button easier.

It had already begun with an email offer to old customers that haven't bought in a while around the middle of the month. I've noticed prices being higher and now that they have included the current and recent buyers, get ready for the overbidding 1000.

Based on the comments above about CBID's efforts, it appears that advertisement works. Disproportional amount of 4 month highs today. Mainly among well known brands.

Still not a bad overbid. At the mothership they run $38.50 for a fiver.

Yeah as QPMASH points out, I think you may be confusing "high price" or "a little over retail" with "Overbidding." Not that there is any hard and fast rule, but generally, the thread was reserved for egregious, over-the-top nonsense, not a couple bucks over retail

This is an auction site, the goal is to win UNDER RETAIL. You pay over retail you've overbid!!!

The Mark Twains I have smoked were rather mild churchills of varying sizes. I would buy more if the price was right for yard gars. This one we are discussing has a broadleaf wrapper and I would like to give it a try if the looney bidders don't keep bidding them up.

Butt, butt, butt... everything I've heard is that losing a bid is a sign of weakness. You must overbid so you can post in the forums and b*tch about it. Or try and trade your $2 cigars you paid $9 each for, for some Padron's or other premiums.

After following this thread for some time I am sure that if you started an auction li.ited only to overbidders, you would become wealthy within a year.

Sheesh. I'm usually trying to pay under WHOLESALE. A couple weeks ago I got a box of My Father #3 for $115. Last I knew, brick-and-mortar wholesale on that box is $135. That's the CBid I know and love.

Newbie email about CBid explains some of the crazy bidding. Earlier today some clown had bid $145 on a box of Flor de Las Antillas Toros. CBid "corrected" him down to $121 ... three bucks less than the CI price. Woohoo!

Auction ended:

Two bidders paid $127 -- three bucks over CI retail -- on a box that seems to come up for auction at least twice a week. Brilliant!

I've won two 5ers of those from here, one for $25, the other for $22 - paying $51 seems simply nutso. Brick wall

I have 3 boxes on Ron Mexico's wrapped in toilet paper, so you know they are originals, that were rolled in the Canary Islands. They are are of the finest mixed fillings, recently swept up off the floor and enhanced by red cedar sawdust. The boxes have been aged inside a pile of fresh horse manure for extra flavor and aroma. CA recently tried them, and after the smokers got out of intensive care, gave them a 99 rating. Let the bidding begin at $300 a box.

I agree ... nice cigar, but $22 - $25 is the price. CBid must love it when the newbie bidders show up :-)
