So I mentioned in another post but I finally met Paul and his lovely wife the other weekend up in Indy. Not only did he bring me some smokey treats, but he also gifted me his right to purchase a bottle of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. Seriously awesome BOTL! BOMB TMCTLT

Fellas.....don't let Nick fool you for ONE minute, all we did was allow him the " opportunity " to buy the bottle we won!! However he reciprocated with an Elijah Craig sampler that landed yesterday.....but I waited for my wife to get home to open it.
His Thank You pkg contained five (5) that's right FIVE mini sealed glass bottles ( I'm guessing approx (4) OZ bottles ) all containing a sample of what appears to be a different annual offering from E.C. from past years. All of them are somewhere in the 130+ proof range....oh and two boxes of grape flavored Nerds!!!! (Nick we hadn't had those since we were kids...Lisa and I opened one last night and enjoyed them )

Thank You.....very much over the top my Man Beer

Tehehe, nerds were just noise makers to prevent inspection of sloshing by curious postal clerk but glad you enjoyed!!

I can't remember what batches I sent already but the 137pf and the 140+ pf are older ones!

Enjoy because the right to purchase from Big Red saved me 40 bucks purchasing on secondary market or from Payless!

been missing for quite a while.

I PM'd him when Wheel died but he didn't reply...not that we were best buds or anything but we had more than a few civil conversations over the years.

he had a few people that drove him to distraction, most recently Tonygraz and Banderl, who has also walked away for now at least ...
it did make for some good reading but would eventually kill threads

seems like a very generous guy, read a lot over the years about people enjoying his company. Loved capital letters randomly dispersed...

I'm extremely proud to say TMCTLT is my vet. They just don't come any finer. While we never met in person, Paul is a fine craftsman, BOTL, husband, father and friend to the core......not a mean bone is his body and would give you the shirt off his back.
Some boneheads here seemed to enjoy throwing darts at him and his beautifully handcrafted wooden ashtrays. Paul takes great pride in all he does. About the only thing I know of that really pissed him off was people questioning his character and/or the quality of his workmanship. I have absolutely no idea why. REALLY Pissed me off too. I wanted to rip a new a-holes for the few guys poking him. We had several discussions about the total lack of class from a small handful of members here. Friendly joking around is fun. This was just mean spirited. It only takes a few bad apples. His low tolerance for that kind of BS is one of the things we had in common. Paul is all about the brotherhood......sharing information and treating other members, both new and old timers with dignity and respect.

I've been wondering where he's been. I miss his presence here. He was a true asset to the C-Bid community and I sincerely hope he returns soon.

Perhaps I'll ring him up to say hello.
