Never tried the maduro, but the originals were not my cup of tea. After smoking a few of them a buddy of mine called and offered me a few of them free and I turned him down.

I've enjoyed both the natural and maddies. About as good a cigar you can get at their regular cost. IMHO.

Great story behind these. This is the cigar that Altadis introduced after Rocky Patel had so much success with the Edge. They basically knocked off the Edge, right down to the packaging and foot band. Word had it that Rocky got so annoyed he came out with the Edge counterfeit ... the "Allege or Tease" label on the Counterfeit (read it out loud) refers to the Omar Ortez cigar.

Anyway, if you like the Edge you'll probably like the Omar Ortez. IMO, a pretty good cigar for cheap money.
