Saturday night, Big Bear (Adrian) received the herf hit. Included was a really cool signed birdhouse (he will need to post a picture) that Mikey contributed as well as a Palio Cutter, Lotus tabletop lighter, herfador, and a ton of cigars. Some of the cigars were a box of OPUS 6 which the 6 cigars were in a humidor. Good thing Prop wasn't there cuz he would have been able to break in the nice looking Jeep where they were hid and locked.

A couple add-ons and I am quite sure more will come later.

Things I Learned at the 11th Annual Fishing Herf

1. Ray is known to give false reports to the police regarding break-ins at the cabin.
2. Mississippians often cannot distinguish between a raccoon and a beaver.
3. Blue's foot is really jacked up and sometimes he shares too much information about it.
4. Only one person cried this year and it wasn't John this time.
5. Fenster brought about 100 cigars and EVERY one was Cuban.
6. Justin Beaver is the new camp mascot.
7. MattyB's son can drink a 12-pack in less than 24 hours.... and he is only 13!
8. There was a mysterious toilet clogger that left Tuck and Ray in awe.
9. John's ex is WAY more horrible than MY ex-wife.
10. Jules got a new haircut which looks great. She was actually mistaken for a celebrity several times.
11. MattyB allows his son to climb on rickety metal 20' shed roofs while EMT's, Firefighters and OSHA inspectors look the other way.
12. Big Bear dances professionally at the NBA Pelicans halftime shows. Look up "senior dancers" and look for the dude with the great 'stache!
13. Grumpy will have a new truck before the next Herf.
14. Mando continues to improve and is still a huge A-hole.
15. Jules turns 50 on June 3rd!
16. Matty2Fish went fishing and caught..... drumroll................ 2 FISH!
17. TJ is not nearly as sensitive as he has been in the past.
18. TJ bought a NEW 4X4 F-150 truck just to get up the hill as he got stuck last year in his 4X2. Grumpie embarrassed him last year and drove right up.
19. Mattie 2 Fish son is a great Trap shooter. Tuck and John went 2 for 6.
20. Mattie 2 Fish son is a SHARK. Hustled me out of $20. And that was after drinking a 12 pack for him. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
21. Joan (MandoBro's GF) Maine Herf is in Sept.
22. Jules does get drunk. (something I NEVER saw)
23. MandoBro can tell you what every liquor taste like. He is pretty drunk by the time he gets thru them all.

And lastly,

Ray is extremely proud of his thonginator thread and encourages everyone to click on the thread to get it up to 1 Million views!

I'm sure I forgot stuff but I did my best. Until next year...

Just to add and clarify to TJs recap....

Before DHS shows up to remove my son from a horrible parent.....
Ocho sucked down almost 12 dr peppers in a day that were kindly sent by Mikey! Thanks Mikey!!

I offered for Ocho to repair the tin roof as most in attendance would have crushed the shed. Ocho agreed to do the work. He wasn't forced. And John did the bulk of the hard work.

While Tuck says Ocho hustled him, it's really just proof of how generous of a man Tuck truly is. Although Ocho is determined to shoot a perfect round next practice now Tuck.

Something about Jules and Grumbie makes me love them more each time I hang out with them. The only way I know to try to describe them is BEAUTIFUL. I absolutely love those girls hearts. Such sweet darlins.

Don't offer free 8:00am wake up service to John and Tex. It's NOT appreciated. Sorry guys.

Sounded like a good ole' time. I definitely missed seeing everybody this year. Sounds like next year is already in the making. Way to do Mando;) count me in.
Dads doing fine. Has a bunch of test lined up this week.
Dr. Is leaning towards apnea.
I myself had apnea, did the surgery, no problems now.
But his was waking him up and dropping him to his knees an hour after he went to bed.
Been going on for 3 months now at least 3 times a week. I guess Wednesday night it was bad enough he went to the hospital via Emt limo. And decided to finally let everyone in on it, including me.
Quite a scare... all is well that ends.

Don't sweat the petty stuff... And don't pet the sweaty stuff. Beer

#14 - A-hole? Whew, I didn't think anyone would notice.
#23 - I've known him his whole life, he was never pretty.

Again, thanks to Ray, Blu for the obvious reasons, and thanks to those who assisted when I needed a hand.

Ok, got home several hours ago. Got online to check email and some other things. Excessive amounts of beer have led me to forget many important things, but here is a quick recap.

Many regular members couldn't make it this year and were missed. Prop couldn't make it, Joker stayed at home, as did Todd the General. Hillybillyjosh, last years "thonginator hit" had a family emergency and also couldn't make it. And, lastly, my co-pilot Mikey has family crap as well. There weren't any noobs. This was just the core group of guys and gals but it was a lot of fun.

The weather went from shitty, to REALLY shitty, to REALLY REALLY FUCKING bad to manageable. I think they had 5-6 inches of rain before we got there and it kept raining until Late Friday. Saturday didn't rain but it was SOOOOOO muddy. My shoes are no longer black. They are red dirt brown.

But, in true Fishing Herf ingenuity, everything went off without a hitch. Blue, the camp master chef, had chili Thursday night, 2 sacks of crawfish boil on Friday, and what seemed like 100 lbs of Jambalaya and white beans on Saturday. I think breakfasts were also cooked, but I needed my beauty rest and didn't attend them. There was a ton of liquor (not sure who provided but I think everyone pitched in. Jules and Grumpy stocked the inside table with cigars and others contributed as well. It was a blast.

Saturday night, Big Bear (Adrian) received the herf hit. Included was a really cool signed birdhouse (he will need to post a picture) that Mikey contributed as well as a Palio Cutter, Lotus tabletop lighter, herfador, and a ton of cigars.

Tuck also passed out a special cigar gift to each person in attendance. It ranged from collector sets to full boxes of smokes.

The thonginator poster will be passed on but the new recipient was not at the herf and they are as of now unaware of the joy coming to them. That tidbit will be posted later.

All in all, we trudged through the weather and had an absolutely great time. Much thanks to Raymond for hosting and we look forward to next year. A new thread with dates has been posted.

Lastly, I will post my list of "things we learned at the herf". They may be cryptic, so I will allow whichever member I am posting about to elaborate on their own time.

I just wanted to thank everybody for the kind words about the food and for all the help got again this year.... With the franken foot, I needed a little more help than normal and the mud didn't help things. I'm still cleaning mud out of that damn boot....

I had a great time and thanks to everyone who made sure the "Chef" was never without a cigar.

Looking forward to next year already.....

Mikey I guess having the gut of a 13 yr old has its advantages. He never complained after drinking all the dr peppers.

Last night I cooked some burgers and he couldn't figure out what to drink. I said, go look in the cooler. He came back with 2 bottles that he had forgotten about. He almost lost his mind when his brother and sister thought they would have one of them.

He said," I earned those!!! I had to fetch mr TJ his beer, wash mr Blus pots, and fix mr Rays barn. You are nuts if you think y'all are are getting my drinks".

So Mattie taught him right.... 1 beer for TJ, didn't even wash my pots, and John had to go up to get the roof fixed....

$2 from TJ, $10 from me, Buck of his choice this hunting season from Ray...... We won't even talk about Tuck....

We loved seeing Lyn and getting the tour. Pizza was fantastic. And now that I have seen Lyn's bead room, I am thinking that if Grumpie wants a new truck, I should have a craft room that is usable for something more than plant storage and a place to dump everyone else's junk. Only fair, I am thinking. Ha! At any rate, we will work with the Cinci crew to schedule a herf here and hopefully you both can make it. If not, you will simply have to come visit some other time.

For the rest of you, I am already anxiously awaiting next year. As Grumpie says, the only time I really relax is at a herf. Must be all the azzhats. Whistle

You all made us both blush with the lovely things you said about us. Thank you. We think the world of all of you. Or did until you followed Grumpie's suggestion about a certain date and posted it. She still loves you. I think you are buttheads.
