Hey all, I know I'm a "noob" and don't have many posts, but I've been a long time lurker, reading all I can on the forums and have been smoking cigars for years. I've finally decided that Nicaraguan tobacco for the most part is what I enjoy most. Anything AJF has been my favorite, and I've tried many different other sticks over the time. What is it that makes Nic. tobacco so good? And what brands are y'all's favorites? I like Padron's, AJF's, Ramon Bueso's, Camacho's, and a couple of the many many Gurkha's I've had. The one brand that's been the most hit or miss for me has been Oliva. Some I really enjoy, yet many don't do anything for me at all.

I know not everything I've brought up is Nicaraguan, and not everything I like is, but that's where most of my favorite sticks seem to be.

What are some other blends and sticks I should try out? What are y'all's opinions on Nicaraguan vs other region's tobacco.

Peace.Beer

Most of Camacho was Honduran, Oliva is mostly Nicaraguan. FYI.

Nicaraguan is usually stronger, but not always. But a lot of the newer stuff has a profile I no longer enjoy.

I only smoke hard to find Cubans, and I light them with $100 bills and laugh at noobs who smoke Gurkhas.

Nicaraguan cigars do tend to be stronger. Maybe you're a nicotine junkie, that'd explain your draw to them. Surprised you didn't mention the big company from there that makes the best cigars.

I'm not really a nicotine junky, when I get the feeling, I'm not a fan. I know some of those aren't Nicaraguan smokes, just listing some things to discuss. What's the big brand from that area?

While I do enjoy the Nicaraguan profile...........strong and spicy(read:Tatuaje),the DR is where my favorite sticks come from,Arturo Fuente and La Flor Dominicana.

This is true.
And what's worse......when Z is slumming, he smokes Padron annis with his mom and they laugh about the people she put on time out. La Princessa is mean...........her son is just a hobo loving camper.

I enjoy the Nicaraguan sticks for two main reasons: I like the spice/pepper you get in a lot of the blends and I actually like the taste of tobacco. All the coco and coffee and nuttiness and this and that are fine but I actually like how strong tobacco tastes and you get that from a good Nic cigar. where, even if there are other flavors or spices involved, you still know you are smoking tobacco!

If you like the strong Nicaraguan flavor, I would say anything by Don Pepin Garcia ( My Father, La Aroma de Cuba, San Cristobal and others) would be some to start sampling.

A bit ahead of itself and possibly racist, Gummy --- despite what Frank said.

+ This.

If you like it a bit milder (and don't mind MSRP-issues) go for the Padron "Thousand" series

And a Nicaraguan that I was pleasantly surprised with that is often on a good sale, the Man-o'war Ruination is an option
