I know the LI is supposed to be the same blend as the LC 2014 release. Anyone know if it compares favorably?

Well, that's unfortunate.

Huh? I thought it was supposed to be exactly the same.

But even with the claims that it's the same as the LC14s, imo, the LIs aren't. I don't recall anything specific but my overall thought when I was smoking a Magico was that it didn't taste nor smoke the same as the LC550. Glad I kept my Magico purchase to only a 5er.

Just finished a LI. Not a bad smoke but definitely not the same depth, richness, etc...

Good to know. Should've bought some while they were available.

Don't think I remember having a LC 2014, but I did enjoy the couple La Imperiosa I've had.

I don't know why I had that stuck in my head, but I'll tell you I've not seen one LIP that didn't have a darker wrapper that the LC. I know I read it somewhere.....cannot place where but HW is usually good info.

I smoked through most of a 5 pack of CG LIP's and gifted 1 or 2. I was totally underwhelmed because of the LC reviews and the cigar itself. I think the LIP is a GOOD cigar and I didn't regret what I paid here for them. But the bids went up and I quit placing them.

*shrug*

I also haven't read one review that said this was close to identical in taste, similar maybe.

Yup on all points. The LIs are good but didn't live up to the expectations of the general public that were looking for the exact same cigar as the OR (...even though touted to be...). Since I had a few more of the LCs left, waited until all the wildness died down before bidding on them. By then prices had fallen and became more realistic given that it wasn't the same as the LCs.

They are. I have been deep into WASP deferred gratification on these. Maybe 2/3's of a box of the 2014's left.

I had seen an article that the wrapper is different, the LI I smoked weren't even close in flavor, color of the LI wrapper is much darker than the LC, I still have some of the LC754 held back.

This made me go count mine, 8 '14 LC550s left. Sad day when I went to my shpo and the boxes were gone.

Haven't bought any of the LIP yet, prices seem to be in the fan boy range/other stuff higher on my list to get.

For sure there was no way the OR could be duplicated unless CH had surpluses of the crops used for the LE blend.

Although I'll miss the '14s once I run out, I'm looking forward to trying the '16s. The CBL wrapper on this year's release is my favorite.

I unfortunately paid attention to the pizzing and fit throwing on line that the 15 was a disappointment that I didn't even bother.
There's always the 16 release though.

Same here usually I'm smart enough to try a cigar and decide for myself.

Had the LI but wasn't fortunate to try the LC. I heard they were the same.
