Beware the promotional email. I received a "welcome back" email from cbid in February offering FREE SHIPPING on my next order. Cool. I thought I'd wait until it was a little closer to spring and see if I could chase down some nice deals. So, a few weeks ago I bid on a number of smokes over the course of a week and did score some nice deals. I thought "yeah...I have to remember cigar bid...you can get some good smokes at a good price if you are patient...plus it's kinda fun." Then I saw that I had $12.95 in shipping chargers. Oooops. So I contacted customer service and was told that I must not have entered the site through the link in the email, and so I couldn't receive the free shipping. But I was sure that I had. I was told that had I entered through the link I would see a notice that said my order would qualify for free shipping. I tried again and saw no such notice. I was then told by customer service that the offer had expired. What!? There is no expiration date on the e-mail. There was no way for me to know that the offer was no longer valid until after I had completed my bidding and the order was final. Cbid's response has basically been....."Well, I know how you feel, but, that's how it goes." Lame. Lame. Lame. Either make it clear that the offer has an expiration date, or make it clear that the offer has expired when I enter the site through the link provided in the email. Fool me once......

Excellent first post Ben.
You made my weekend.
Now I'm gonna go smoke a Padron Anni, which was hand delivered, for free, by a pretty lady who wasn't wearing much......as usual.
I'll be lighting it with a $100 bill......as usual.

I'm obviously living wrong. Not only did I lose out on my free shipping, but some fat hairy guy in a speedo delivered my cigars. He was all oiled up too. Well...I'll go fire up my Fighting **** that I way overbid on....as usual......and hope that will help me forget my troubles.

That free shipping offer worked for me - and there was an expiration date for signing up for it. Perhaps you were the one that made the error or missed the cut-off date.

That would be ZRX....
His mommy (aka La Princessa) sends him out on deliveries on weekends.
I'm surprised he didn't ask you to go camping.

Hi Tony.....believe me....I looked all over for an expiration date....none to be found. I'll forward you the e-mail if you like. Oh well....my new buddy ZRX kind of knows how to build a camp fire....and it's rather relaxing picking these engorged ticks from his thighs. Sometimes, life is good.

Yeah, them promotional emails should be indefinite and go into infinity... and should be cumulative.

I don't think c-bid would do this egregiously. Here's why.

To our customers, we promise...

CigarBid’s technical platform and state-of-the-art data encryption ensure safe and secure transactions. To ensure that the items you have purchased are delivered to you in good condition. By utilizing UPS, and Priority Mail, we provide the most economical and feasible options to ensure perfect deliveries.
To offer quality products that you want. We will not knowingly use our platform to sell illegal, stolen or misrepresented merchandise, knock-off merchandise, pornographic material, multi-level marketing products or any other items of questionable nature.
To make sure you are satisfied, we do everything in our power to make things right. We maintain our own dedicated Customer Care Center. Our team is available to support you before, during and after the sale. Contact us toll-free at 1-800-830-4590.
To treat you with respect. We will not send you unsolicited email messages, subject you to relentless commercial pop-up or pop-under messages on our website, and we will always be courteous, polite, helpful, honest and fair.
We will not tolerate the practice of "shill bidding" (i.e. bidding for the sole purpose of driving up the price). The practice of shill bidding is illegal. At CigarBid “shill” bidders are not tolerated, their accounts will be suspended and we will report offenders to the appropriate authorities.

$h!T about to get real, Damarie in the house.

This thread could be epic.

Or not.

We've already got camping with ZRX, thumbscrews/matches/memberships, delivery, a CS Lady of CBid, DMV and JadeRose sightings without a flame-a-thon starting....

I'm pretty close to a CBid Bingo, what do I win?
