read the forum. go to the "What are you smokin'" link and see what pops up a whole bunch. It's a long journey that really never ends.

I've grown into a pretty insufferable elitist, but you know what...those Primeros are a great $1 smoke. I won't disagree that MOST Victor Sinclair cigars are pretty awful. And in my early days, I probably tried all of them. But there's been exactly three that were better than 'smokeable'...while every other one was terrible.

-Primeros is a very nice morning cigar - In fact, I had one yesterday morning on the way to the lake; got fiver for first time in years...for nostalgia's sake, and it is still pretty ecent

-The old 440 Triple Corojo (4x40 in a tin, I believe) was a very good 25 min smoke --never found another Triple Corojo size that was any good

-The 55 Corojo petite cigarillo in tins of ten is decent enough 15 min cigar -- Absolutely crazy because every single other 55 is horrid...but I've gone through hundreds of the petite 55 corojos and they are not bad at all...good short drive smoke at $3/tin of ten

There isn't another VS that I could be paid to smoke. Try those Primeros after a couple week's rest before you toss them out.

Finally -- a man after my own heart! I guess I'm a weenie because I like cheap and mild cigars. If you haven't tried the Vintage Select, give it a go. I also like the Bohemian Bamboo (similarly mild and cheap) but it'd be nice if it came in a smaller vitola. The Big Sur is massive and I've got these tiny hands.

All told a bit funny, though. It's usually that people say the Triple Corojo is the good VS stick of the lot.

It's hereditary, I'm afraid. I've been spending so much time on the campaign trail, too. I'm gonna make America great again, but we can keep that a secret, right?

sonj,
Try some EPC New Wave Connecticut in the robusto size (Brillantes.) They fit the bill of a cheap, mild, tasty cigar avail on cbid. Its been a few years since I had one, but the Oliva CT were not bad when they first came out.

+1... used to get the new waves at a $1 each and the oliva ct at $2... I think both are up a buck more these days... the new wave is kinda still occasionally worth it to me... not so much the oliva...

Call it a learning experience.

Out of it all, remember to smoke what ya like and like what ya smoke. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks or says.
