Long story short, I've been doing inventory reduction. Quit buying when I had to add overflow storage. Finally got enough room to empty out all my overflow, and still room to spare.

Bought 7 fivers of these when they appeared on here. Tried one and it was garbage, so I threw all of them in a 30 cal ammo can with a few SC blocks, and 2 Boveda packs. Figured if it was like the mainline Genesis, time would do well.

Year and a few months later, still not among my favorites. But, it's a bit better. Reasonable yard or mooch gar.

A bit of spice and leather, but a faint hint of plastic on finish. Retrohale gives a unexpected peppery bite, and a notable bit of citrus notes. It's also packing a lot more of a punch than I expected.

Gonna take a while to get through the 33 remaining, hopefully they continue to improve. If anyone really likes these, I'll be happy to send some your way. Otherwise, they'll be picked at slowly until gone.

Later releases simply were not as good as the early ones.
I smoked an older (not OR) Muy Bueso the other day, nice smooth cigar, somewhat one dimensional, but perfect burn and draw, with nice flavor.
I musta got lucky with my original release Toros, because they were really fantastic cigars. No other Genesis vitola of those early releases were nearly as good. They had a strong sweet citrus prelight aroma, perfect burn and draw, with several different flavors popping in and out.
Too bad I smoked them all. ...... d'oh!

Smoked a a6 month old Genesis Muy Bueso the other day. Better that the other Genesis I've tried. Decided against trying the Habano.

Been sitting on a fiver since the reports have been coming out that the newer ones are subpar. I guess we can all play a game of Rip Van Bueso........and see how that does but it's sounding like it may not be worth wait.

The couple of Habanos I smoked were subpar and the Genesis has been hit or miss, with more hits. I got an OR Olanchan10 count box at a steal and am waiting a while to open it.

I got a box of robs when these were pretty new but after some of the hype died off.

Not good rott < 2 months, they maybe getting better as the one I had recently I thought was better then the first. They've got over a year and a half rest on them now.

The Dinkbat gifted me a 5er of these and while I appreciate the gesture and the generosity they were not for me. Think the RB line hit its peak when first introduced and has since gone downhill.

Ditto some of the above.I got a some Habanos not long after they first came out and really liked them even ROTT. Later on when saw a sale thought about getting a box or two but saw people reporting that quality had gone down. Just got a fiver and, sure enough, ROTT not so good. Let the remainder rest for a while and that helped a LOT but still not quite as good as the first ones.

Wondering if the first batch of Habanos had been aged for a nice long time before release and then, after the initial popularity, they just started to send them ASAP to market.

My box smelled like paint thinner so I took them out and store them in a zip lock bag. They taste much better after a couple months out of the box.

Unfortunately, this happens.
OR's are GREAT cigars. You get hooked. Manufacturer changes the blend. Disappointment abounds.

Two cigars that are prime examples of this are:

PADILLA Miami 8&11
(Pepin rolled)
I think they re-issued it a half dozen or so times, after DPG left.
The latest incarnation is good, but NO WHERE NEAR the OR. (Same goes for the 1932 . . . just ask hnixon!)

LA PERLA HABANA Morado (Purple band)
OR was a GREAT (and inexpensive) cigar (Thank you dpnewell for introducing me to these.)
Re-issue is pure trash.

Feel free to add to the list, if you are so inclined.

Careful............you might end up in a dark place, handcuffed on a stone floor, with a spiked high heel grinding into your groin and a hideous shrill laughter echoing in your ears while you try to scream through your ball gag.
RIP DP..........
