I missed our local Oktoberfest celebration due to pronghorn hunting season, but luckily I was able to grab the last 6-pack of Bonfire Brewing's Gyptoberfest from our local distributor. Made from Augustiner Yeast and Hallertau Hops this "Gyptoberfest" was created for the annual Oktoberfest celebration in my home town of Gypsum, CO. It's a traditional Marzen lager that is deep amber in color with a robust and toasty flavor. Found it to be a very session-able Marzen and paired nicely with the earthy profile of the H. Upmann Royal Robusto. A Cuban cigar seemed appropriate to celebrate today's news on the lift of the cigar embargo.
