First let me say that I vote Conservative 100%. It's just how I was raised and seriously doubt I could change.

So I've been exposed to politics first hand on the local and state level. Nothing ever takes place without a plan. I mean nothing. Elections are not checkers, they are chess. Anyone can get elected with the right endorsements.

So Trump won the nomination by being the outsider. He crushed the establishment. I don't think we can debate this.

I wonder, and I'm sorta thinking outloud, is the party still trying to portray this? Ei.....is Paul Ryan and others trying to draw the outsider vote? Are they trying to pull votes from the anti-establishment?

I mean come on. Ryan knows what's at stake. He has no other option but endorse Trump. We all know he won't vote for Hillary.

I just wonder how much of this is real.

Guess I'm late the party. I didn't realize that had been discussed.

I completely disagree; this election had more to do with making sure Hillary got into office than anything else. She literally gave Bush Iraq and Afghanistan it's only natural that she gets repaid. This was a high level trade; even the Obama elections. That's why you saw weak candidates for the past three years on the Republican side and not governors.

Romney...assumed you meant last 3 presidential elections, not 3 years.

Ok, Frank I concede my point; they were so bad I literally blocked them out. Frank, would you honestly vote for a man who believes the native Americans are actually Jews that sinned and had to move to North America? Besides, no one can realisticly vote for a Mormon as president they're way too authoritarian.

And then we have the Palin... yes, "the Palin" because she's a separate animal to herself. With the chit she says it's a wonder how she was ever elected other than Alaska being filled with a bunch of horny men saying "that woman's hot, she gets my vote."

So yes they may be governors but Utah is the square capital of the US probably worse than Idaho and there's really nothing to govern in Alaska except good salmon, good hunting, and a chit ton of oil.

I know you're a democrat, so say what you want about the Bush administration but no one can honestly tell me that dubya doesn't know how to partay.

actually registered as "unenrolled", probably vote 80% dems though. Voted for the (moderate) current Republican Gov in MA, Charlie Baker, probably will again...

Other than that, completely agree with your points. And you forgot to mention Romney drew the blueprint for Obamacare when he was Gov of MA.

Politically, preferred Bush's daddy as prez, but would absolutely like to party with The W. But no guns if Cheney comes.

Life long republican. Reagan republican. Worked oh his campaign.

Been watching a mix of fringe republicans and some non republicans join the party out of convienence because they know forming another party will give them no chance. After joining they claim the real republicans are rinos and they are the rwL republicans. It's a really cool tactic but it's ruining my party. They are the true rinos.

The children won the primary this time. They foolishly picked trump. They embrace chaos and got it. They will render my party irrelevant in this election.

I don't think my party will die in this election. I think it will once again become what it always really has been. A non majority party of principals. The tea party faux republicans can go form their own fringe conspiracy fueled group. Hopefully my party can once again become its own principled group.

The democrats will continue to be an unprincipled group of heritcs but the majority. Unfortunately the majority is not a God faring principled group which is why we need the republicans however much a minority to act as a check on their ungodly ways.

Trump is no more a republican than I am a unicorn. Ryan while not my favorite is.

**** trump.

I used to think if Trump ran as a Dem he would be their candidate... but it's clear now the fix was in for Hillary. .. I don't consider Trump a Republican either. . He's some sort of third party that just happened to win the nomination. .. I'm not happy about it but Hillary is not the solution. .. and Johnson is a wasted vote as you all know... Mellow

IMO, Ryan is doing the GOP's bidding. The GOP and RNC are just two heads of the same snake. They play out little games to keep the voters fired up while doing exactly as they are told by the folks that pay to get them elected. If it was not so, the last crop of republicans elected to take over the parliament of whores would have defunded and abolished Obama care, not given Obama fast track authority to approve the TPP, not just a bad trade deal, but another sacrifice of digital rights.

Trump is a threat to the status quo, I'm not certain how big a threat, but just talking about the corruption is enough to fire up both parties against him. It's also an excellent reason to vote for Trump and send a huge FU to both parties. To those scared Trump will do something crazy I point out we survived almost eight years of the feckless Obama admministration and his leadership vacuum, we will be just fine.

I think the Repulicans have been headed down this path of years. Trump, just happend to be there to explore the opertunity they gave him.

Think about it; they have become the party of "Can't". They want to repeal laws and replace them with nothing, never move forward on reforms, won't even move forward with interviewing a moderate SCOTUS nominee. The only thing they do push for of tax breaks for the wealthy, spending more on what is already the world biggest military, and creating a theocracy in each and every state. And they can't even agree on those things.

You didn't need to be liberal or a Democrate to agree that the Republicans had a true clown cars worth of candidates. Trump just had the funniest jokes and the biggest shoes....

I think there needs to be a more opaque culling of Republican candidates. Right now the Democrats really have them by the balls. Republicans had 20+ candidates why the democrats realistically had only Bernie and Hilldog.

A few things on Trump; he's backed both the republican and democrat parties for decades. I made the mistake early on of only thinking he was a democrat in republican clothing but after digging through some old video footage it seems that he's been a Republican for at least 20 years. His tax plan seems decent and I will benefit greatly from it; overall I like his ideas on foreign policy and I think he'll be a far better military leader than Clinton who already proved with Benghazi et al that she cannot adequately fulfill that position.

Plus it's certain that if Clinton gets elected there will be war.

TW I pretty much agree with your assement. I'm a bit more libertarian personally but America definitely needs to stand on it's inner American values and not what the rest of the world has always envisioned america to be.

You didn't thank me for giving you another pass...Romney wasn't Gov of Utah either.

so I guess Governors are not automatically a step up from others.

Trump runs as a pseudo republican on an anti-establishment platform.

Then we all get hot and bothered when the establishment doesn't endorse him.

His behavior has made him unlikable but it will be fun to see him win if for no other reason than to watch the heads explode of those who hate him more than satan herself.

Maybe.. the Hillary camp was hoping to avoid that by asking Trump to give up his legal right to contest the election... but he didn't want to.. Mellow
