Rules:

1) In the spirit of Christmas from every annoyed dad's perspective: have fun, no complaining.

2) Agree to send at least a pack of five cigars to another forum member who will be randomly selected for you, by December 20th. (We want the folks to receive their gift by Christmas.)

3) Post to this thread when you have shipped your present to the giftee. You need not include tracking number in this post, but please do keep the tracking information for the package you send.

4) Post to this thread when you have received your gift. When you open the gift, sharing a picture post of the contents would be appreciated as well.

5) You must have already completed a successful trade on this forum in order to sign up.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Question - Wait, I can sign up for more than one Secret Santa?
Answer - Indeed! In order to facilitate the total destruction of their mailboxes, established forum members are allowed to sign up for an unbelievable 2 (count 'em, TWO!) Secret Santa trades. This means you will send and receive two Secret Santa gifts.

Question - I'm new and haven't completed a trade. Is there any way I can still join?
Answer - Sorry, no.

Question - Will I be receiving a gift from the person I'm sending to?
Answer - Nope! You'll be randomly matched to a sender and a recipient.

Question - A fiver is great and all, but can I send more?!
Answer - Absolutely, we all know that some folks here are excitable gifters and the generosity is welcome. But, don't feel obligated to gift more than you're able, a fiver is all that is required.

Question - Something awful has happened and I won't be able to send out a gift, what do I do?!
Answer - Life happens. Keep that in mind, try to be ready for the Secret Santa. But, if something unexpected does arise and you are absolutely unable to send your gift, get in touch with me immediately.

Question - It's December 25th and I have not received anything from my Secret Santa. What should I do?
Answer - If you do not receive your gift by December 25th, get in touch with me!

Question - I really don't like ________. How do I let my Secret Santa know what my likes and dislikes are?
Answer - Post here after you've sent me your information. Don't add a wishlist, just let folks know if there is something you won't smoke or a kind of cigar you prefer.

Question - How will matches be determined? Can I be paired with_______?
Answer - I'll either draw names from a hat or put everyone in a randomized generator. Everything will be random, no requests!

Alright..... Let's get this going!

Was there another one already going? I used the forum search thing and came up with diddly from 2016, but plenty from 2015.

Figured I'd pick up the mantle this year. Got it going early to give people plenty of time to join, prepare, and mail.

Also, gummy... JOIN! PREPARE!! And, after you've been matched, MAIL!!!!

I might have to pull myself out, I kinda just figured out that I'd have to tell someone that they're my Secret Santa.... Might ruin the fun for them! Either we'll come up with a way to make my participation completely blind, or I'll not take part in the gifting.

Everyone is being put into a Random Generator which will make the matches without any input from me. I'll let folks know who they're sending to, keeping everything on the hu****y-hush. There'll be no telling or hinting about who has who, at least not by me.

Edit: took myself off the list. I really just want to see what you folks do to each other!

Neeeeeerrrrrrrd. Herfing

(That's ok. Most of my friends are computer, mechanical, or bio engineers. I'm surrounded by nerd and it rocks.)

I pulled myself off the list. No need for you to do any extra work when there's such a simple fix!

Not a bad idea, folks. Didn't think of this!

I wonder, how are you people going to handle to return addresses on your boxes?

Everyone should use Harvey's address just in case there's a mishap and it gets shipped back.

Glad to find that a couple of you are taking advantage of the multiple-Santa option. Didn't know if you folks would take to it, but I already know that it is going to make things more interesting!

You can put anything as a return address, but usually the postmark is a big clue.
