Anyone got brothers, friends etc downrange that would enjoy a care package? Got about 6 or 7 lbs of smokes I was going to send to OpFTH, but if anyone has a person in their lives that would appreciate it...

I've got some. I live right next to JBLM. Checking to see if I can make this happen for you.

Good on ya, my friend.

My brother-in-law says that he has a detachment deployed right now who could really use it. But no idea how to get that stuff in-country. The battalion commander would know. My brother-in-law will see him on Friday & find out. If you can hold off until then, I will let you know what we can make happen.

For any of you fellas who haven't sent sticks to the sandbox yet, the troops REALLY appreciate it. I had a coworker who left his cubicle to go over there on two deployments, and I regularly sent him cigars to smoke and share with the other soldiers, and man, when he got back he told me how much it means to them. It's a little slice of home, a big morale booster in a crappy environment. Plus he said the cigars kept him sane on long watch shifts that were crushingly boring, too.

For anyone thinking of doing it, do it!

I usually stuff little bottles of scotch and bourbon in packages of socks too (not for OPFTH). Never been confiscated yet...

My brother-in-law couldn't make Plan A happen. I suspect Plan B ain't working out, either. I shot him a couple of messages after hearing Plan A didn't work out and he hasn't gotten back to me. I suspect he has his hands full. Sorry for the lack of help, my friend.

I've got some pals in Iraq and Afghanistan if you're still looking to send these. I have not asked them if they need any yet, until you reply. Are they cigars or cigarettes?
