I've never seen W12 in the wild in my parts to try, as I've never had any and I've been looking for a couple years.

Although, I was fooled in to believing that ETL was good also and it did not sit well on my palate. I'm not bashing it, it's just not for me- tasted like musty mold. So I wonder if W12 will be the same way for me, if I ever am fortunate to find any...

Talked to the liquor guy at my local.....he admitted that they have W12, but it's "allocated" to their commercial customers only.....Brick wall

Went to a different store of same chain (Specs), and got put on an allocation list..... $27.50 a bottle if get one!

I think I said this before, but I'll repeat it.

Allocated bourbon won't make it to the shelf. Most states only see less than 25 cases

So think, that's only 25 stores that get a case or 6 bottles.

Those 6 bottles are for elite customers
Or they sell online for a HUGE profit.

Unless you have a strong relationship, better shop online and pay out the nose.

For W12 to be so limited, you would think bottling handles wouldn't be even a thought.

Oh well, next time I go to Casa Fuente, I'll be sure to have a Wellers before a mojito.

You know me I love to share...

...how much these gouging bastids are killing it. Where I am now? Bottles readily available for $80 (gulp!) a piece.

No thanks. Not when I can get only slightly inflated Stagg Jr all day long for $50...

Just to put it in perspective down in my home town as recently as 2015 they readily had W12 available for the pricely sum of $21.96 a bottle.

I would call the store but chances are they are in the same boat as most.

Oh and if this helps...

I picked up a case last time I saw it in virginia, still doing well on that supply. Believe it was only 29.99 a bottle. May have even gotten for 24.99.

If only Virginia had consistent supply of Weller. I like Va because I travel there for work a few times a year but most importantly, being an alcohol control state, their entire store by store inventory is online. Sometimes it takes some manhandling but I usually will go through the inventory for anything I'm interested in and drive all over the state hunting a bottle down if need be. Can always find ECBP, Saz, and ETL with a little looking. The other ones are getting harder. They have a running list going back a few years for Pappy 20, Antique collection, Weller SR and OWA (no W12 in state I believe). They've been doing statewide lotteries for ORVW, VWSR, PVW15, Abraham Bowman, 4Roses Ltd, Parkers Heritage, etc. and a bunch of other shelf turds that are "Limited." Downside is you have to be a Virginia resident with valid drivers license now (supposedly). I used to enter myself and a coworker and he'd pick up his bottle and I'd grab mine when I was in town. Then they added a time limit, 2 weeks to pick up so he would grab his and my bottle. Then they said Va residents and would only let him pick up his bottle. So now I only enter him. My other colleagues out there are dicks and don't want to enter for me haha.

Do you guys know of any other states that have ABC and inventory online? I haven't found any others but I don't go to many other ABC states.

I'm still drinking the W12 you sent me a while back.

We need a whiskey emoji to go with the beer one.
